A Satire and a Homage to Bergmann's The Seventh Seal
cisco-139 August 2000
This short movie is both a homage and a satire of the much revered Ingmar Bergmann movie "The Seventh Seal". The basic premise is that a man, distraught by unemployment and love troubles, goes to a bar intent on killing himself, and is visited by the Grim Reaper himself. In a satire of Bergmann's, this Death is more witty, and yet retains philosophy to his/her/its core. As in The Seventh Seal, the duo gambles for the mortal's life... in most unexpected fashion. I recommend this movie to all cinephilles who can understand the in-joke -- all others would be lost within this superb comedic short.

A satire of Bergman´s "The Seventh Seal"
dbonis15 February 2000
Depressed by unemployment and a complicated marriage, a man decides to die. He meets Death in a night club, but then decides to take it back. They resolve the dilemma by playing a snooker game.

This is an unpretentious satire of "The Seventh Seal" by Bergman. A very funny Brazilian short movie.
