Outdoor sex in lame loop carrier
lor_15 September 2011
Not much thought or effort went into the porn film ANGIE, in which a pair of cops (Rikki O'Neal and Roger Caine) watch a large cast having sex outdoors and comment on the proceedings. All the footage could have been new (expressly shot for ANGIE), but it plays exactly like a loop carrier, with all the sex scenes (except for the 2 leads) shot MOS.

A nutty clergyman (with British accent) Rev. Noble (Zebedy Colt hamming it up in a non-sex role) phones Capt. Blojak reporting orgies outside his window. Caine (as Sgt. Kowalski) and Angie (O'Neal) are sent to bust the miscreants.

Instead they hide in the bushes and for over an hour of running time watch one XXX vignette after another, all shot outdoors by a swimming pool or out on the grass. That makes ANGIE a healthy sex movie, almost hailing back to the '60s nature camp nudies.

The asinine nature of the two stars' commentary sinks ANGIE almost immediately. Examples of the inanity are Rikki declaring "With a joint like that she could play baseball!", watching a blow job, or Caine's "This is a picnic baby, I'm going to have a box lunch" when the duo eventually has sex to finish off the movie.

The attractive women and explicit action was likely enough to please Adult Cinema attendees for a wall-to-wall sex feature. Picture bears a 1979 copyright date, and its probable release date was 1979 or 1980, not the 1982 listed in IMDb stemming from an irrelevant booking in Portugal.

Film has been revived on DVD as part of a Vanessa del Rio tribute, but her performance is merely routine. Besides lovely Rikki's sexy finale scene, Samantha Fox and a couple of buxom starlets provide the movie's sexiest moments. A lame soundtrack features disco music like "Fly, Robin, Fly". Sloppy production has the ungrammatical "Angie Police Women" displayed on-screen for the opening credits.
