Next Goal Wins stars Michael Fassbender, Oscar Knightley, Elisabeth Moss, Will Arnett, Rachel House, David Fane, and Kaimana. So, if you love the sports comedy film here are some similar shows you could watch next.

NCIS veteran David McCallum, also known for his Emmy-nominated role in The Man From U.N.C.L.E., died peacefully this morning of natural causes at New York Presbyterian Hospital, surrounded by family. He was 90, having celebrated his birthday less than a week ago.
A fan favorite, McCallum was the last remaining original cast member on CBS’ NCIS, in which he played Chief Medical Examiner Donald “Ducky” Mallard, an eccentric but highly efficient investigator with a knack for psychological profiling, for two decades.

“For over 20 years, David McCallum endeared himself to audiences around the world playing the wise, quirky, and sometimes enigmatic, Dr. Donald ‘Ducky’ Mallard,” said NCIS executive producers Steven D. Binder and David North. “But as much as his fans may have loved him, those who worked side by side with David loved him that much more.

The Replacements are about to celebrate their 1985 major label debut Tim with the upcoming deluxe edition Tim: Let It Bleed Edition. But before that’s out September 22nd, they’ve shared a preview with an alternate version of their hit “Can’t Hardly Wait” that features some prominent cello shredding.
Frontman Paul Westerberg had always wanted to experiment with the recording of “Can’t Hardly Wait.” Upon writing it in 1984, he made an acoustic guide track — recorded in the cavernous Nicollet Studios, which had once been a movie theater — and then record a full-band version over it. However, the band couldn’t hear the guide track over their instruments, so they decided to record a more standard rock version of the song.
But that wasn’t exactly what Westerberg had in mind. So the next day, he decided to enlist the studio’s receptionist, Michelle Kinney, a trained cellist active in the...

“Nowhere Kid” follows previous single “Never Ending Moment,” which arrived in April. Regarding the new song, Rocs stated, “‘Nowhere Kid’ is an anthem for the lonely. The Replacements was a sports comedy with a real-life inspiration: a team of journeymen players who broke through the picket lines and played as replacement while the NFL players were on strike, then stayed with the team even after the strike had been settled, eventually helping the team win the Super Bowl. Though it earned high marks from the critics and audiences that saw the film, the word of mouth didn’t spread — at least, not immediately. Considered a box office flop after its 2000 release, it has taken on new life as a cult classic, especially among fans of sports films. Keanu Reeves, who starred in the film as the team’s replacement quarterback, said that his goal was to look like a real football player out there on the field, and a former pro quarterback, T.J. Rubley, told him that he’d succeeded. (Click on the media bar below...

Some mild Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 spoilers follow.
Once again, director and writer James Gunn has added another unique dimension to one of his films, with the perfectly curated batch of oddball tunes that populate the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 soundtrack. And yes, once again, these tracks are presented as things being listened to by the characters during the events of the film, dropped in increasingly inventive, energizing, and even heartbreaking fashion at the appropriate moments.
Sure, things have changed a little bit, with the songs no longer being tied to any specific era, and being played as an assortment of tunes that had been uploaded onto a Zune MP3 player of all things, but they still hit just as hard, loud, and unexpectedly as they ever have. So if you’re ready to groove like your favorite bunch of interstellar misfits, here’s how you can do it.

In a modern blockbuster landscape that's weirdly short on great soundtracks, the "Guardians of the Galaxy" albums have been a dependable source of musical excellence for nearly a decade now. The first film's soundtrack was a huge hit that was certified platinum, while the second received a gold certification and was among the most popular albums of the year. Songs including Blue Swede's "Hooked on a Feeling" and Electric Light Orchestra's "Mr. Blue Sky" exploded in popularity thanks to fans playing the catchy tunes on repeat.
The impressive, massive response to the "Guardians of the Galaxy" mixtapes hasn't been lost on writer-director James Gunn. In a recent press conference attended by /Film's Jenna Busch, Gunn spoke about the deliberation that goes into making the musical compilations that are all but guaranteed to give the artists they feature a popularity boost. Along the way, he also revealed which song has...

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 won’t be out in theaters for another month, but writer/director James Gunn has already revealed the official soundtrack. Ahead of its release on CD and digital download on May 3rd, you can stream it now via Apple Music or Spotify below.

Achieving continued success in Hollywood is never easy, and ultimately comes down to relationships. Director Chad Stahleski has been at the helm of every entry in the "John Wick" franchise including the upcoming "John Wick: Chapter 4," but his connection to star Keanu Reeves dates all the way back to "The Matrix." Stahleski worked as Reeves's stunt double in the original sci-fi action epic, also standing in as Neo in "Reloaded" and "Revolutions," then continuing to double the actor in the football comedy "The Replacements" and 2005's "Constantine." Stahleski was also the martial arts choreographer for Reeves's directorial debut "The Man of Tai Chi" — the movie responsible for gifting us with the memorable line "You owe me a life."
Reeves returned the favor when Stahleski stepped behind the camera to direct "John Wick." The revenge-fueled neo-noir epic helped redefine American action films, spawning four sequels by the time John Wick...

(Welcome to My Most Ridiculous Note, a series of interviews in which animators talk about the weirdest and funniest notes they received from studio executives.)
The early to mid-'00s was not a good time for Walt Disney Animation, with the failures of "Treasure Planet" and "Home on the Range" all but killing traditional animation on the big screen. On the TV side of things, however, it was an exciting time. The studio was producing a slate of cool high-concept cartoons as it began producing animation for the Disney Channel, with shows like "American Dragon: Jake Long," "Brandy & Mr. Whiskers," and "The Replacements" offering a good blend of family sitcom and genre hijinks.
In this period, there was arguably no show as consistently weird and funny as "Dave the Barbarian," a cartoon perhaps best remembered for its anachronistic jokes and fourth wall breaks (like the construction of a medieval megaphone...

When Jess Paine and Ramon Watkins were announced as the inaugural recipients of the In Dreams Fellowship at the beginning of last year, their aspirations of cracking the US market were given a significant boost.
However, the screenwriting initiative’s mission to spark a new wave of Australian storytelling perspectives in Hollywood coincided with the more unwelcome wave of Covid across the world, which cast a shadow over new opportunities in the industry.
Despite this, both Paine and Watkins have managed to take their craft to the next level, with the former having her YA sci-fi pilot The Replacements optioned by Kojo Studios and Stampede Ventures partnership, The Alliance, while the latter has joined Impact Australia 2 to work on half-hour queer comedy Daddies.
Paine, who writes scripts for Neighbours while developing other projects, told If the pandemic may have even carried a silver lining.

When Record Store Day announced this year’s event will be spread in three “drop” dates — August 29th, September 26th, and October 24th — we knew we had to organize three separate lists to highlight the event’s spectacular releases. The September drop, which occurs on Saturday, features classics (alternate takes of Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours) as well as records that have been unavailable for years (Nas’ God’s Son). It’s a great way to support your favorite record store, and these drops will allow the largest number of them to partake.

Classic rock has played a prominent role in Showtime’s “Billions,” not just in songs synched on the show — tracks by Led Zeppelin, the Grateful Dead, Sly & the Family Stone, AC/DC and Van Halen can be heard — but in the T-shirts worn by lead character Bobby Axelrod (Damian Lewis) bearing the logos of Metallica, Black Sabbath, Motorhead and other hard rock bands.
The heavy-hitting placements continue this season, the series’ fourth, with songs by U2 (“New Year’s Day”) and Jackson Browne (“These Days”), both used on the most recent May 26 episode. But creators/writers Brian Koppelman and David Levien are quick to point out that the show’s music finds a balance between the familiar and the lesser-known, with such acts as Lucy Darcus, Fred Eaglesmith and Kevin Morby also soundtracking this season.

Heaven only knows whether Jared Goff will lead the Los Angeles Rams to a historic victory in Super Bowl Liii this Sunday, but kickoff can’t get here quick enough for Hollywood legend Warren Beatty. “The phone keeps ringing,” Beatty said. “What’s been going on, well, it’s kind of ridiculous.”
The reason the phone keeps ringing? Heaven Can Wait, the 1978 celestial comedy hit that Beatty memorably produced, co-directed, co-wrote and starred in. Beatty portrays Rams quarterback Joe Pendleton, who dies before his destined time but, with some angelic assistance, returns to win the Super Bowl inhabiting the body of the team’s unflappable back-up, Tom Jarrett, who wears No. 16.
Goff is also known for playing without panic, he wears No. 16 and his first name sounds a lot like Jarrett — which may sound like skimpy stuff when it comes to cosmic coincidences, but it’s good enough to merit...

Now that “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” is in theaters and dominating the box office in much the same manner as its predecessor, James Gunn is feeling thankful. The writer/director took to Facebook to share his gratitude for all the “heartbroken misfits” who, like him, take joy and comfort in pop culture.

“When I was young I felt utterly alone, at times to the point of suicidal thoughts. I never felt like I belonged, had an incredibly difficult time connecting to other people and, despite having love around me, I had an impossible time experiencing it, or taking it in,” he writes.
“But I found my respite in popular entertainment – Marvel comics, science fiction and horror films, the music of The Sex Pistols, The Replacements, and Queen,” Gunn continues. “Suddenly...

James Gunn is in a good position right now; his Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 is currently tearing it up at the box office, already well on its way to doing significantly better than the already-successful first film. In an effort to take stock of his success, then, Gunn got a little reflective today, posting a letter on Facebook that talks about why he makes these movies, and what characters like Star Lord, Gamora, and Rocket meant to him when he was a kid.
Talking through teenage feelings of isolation, and even suicidal thoughts, Gunn lays out the role pop culture played in helping him feel connected to the world.

The appeal of Keanu Reeves – philosopher, lover, martial artist, musician, motorcycle enthusiast, movie star – is that he carries himself lightly, even in the movies that require him to turn from "cool breeze" (the Hawaiian translation of his first name, for those of you playing at home) to howling tempest. He's the type of guy who's had to deny being Buddhist, even though he's played the Buddha onscreen – because it's just widely assumed that he would swing that way religiously. ("I haven't take refuge in the dharma," he has assured us.

Denis Leary might seem like the kind of guy who celebrates the conflict that comes with creative collaboration. But the creator and star of FX’s”Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll” is quick to champion another writer for the show’s new energy in Season 2.

Leary credited one of the show’s new writers, Julieanne Smolinski, for helping enhance the storylines of Gigi (Elizabeth Gillies) and Ava (Elaine Hendrix). “It doesn’t matter how many women you know and how many times you’ve tried to keep your eyes and your ears open to gain information for writing purposes, you’re never going to be able to write a woman the way a woman could,” he said.
The new season of “Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll” also pays tribute to David Bowie, including some old concert footage of the glam rocker at his prime.

Guns N’ Roses are known as one of the most notorious acts in music history. The stars of today have nothing on these guys; from trashed hotel rooms, international manhunts, riots, serial killers, the list goes on and on.
With more than 100 million albums sold worldwide, the band that broke onto the hard rock scene in the 80s during the L.A. Glam period then reached its peak in the mid 90s has had more than its share of scandals. Making the antics of bands like The Rolling Stones or Black Sabbath look absolutely docile in comparison, Gn’R didn’t just live the sex, drugs, and rock n’ roll lifestyle, they redefined it.
Founding members were out of the group before it ever released its debut album, whilst lyrics to songs like “One in a Million” and “Used to Love Her” caused an outcry. A live sexual romp...
