A small dog lives a stultifying life in a mansion under the close supervision of a liveried footman. One day the dog lets in dogs off the street. They proceed to run riot in this slow-starting but enjoyable Terrytoon.
The terrible life of rich, young people have been a perennial of movies at least since Mary Pickford starred in POOR LITTLE RICH GIRL. A couple of months after this cartoon came out, Paul Terry's distributor would release THE LITTLE PRINCESS starring Shirley Temple.
Director Eddie Donnelly paces this movie expertly, with an accelerating speed. All too soon, the focus of the cartoon shifts from the small dog to the footman, who gets into a funny wrestling match with a large white sheepdog. For a one-shot cartoon, this is pretty good.
