Worried that his police team won't win fairly, Luc convinces nurse mate Jelle to supply a laxative to administer to the adversaries. Alas, only their shooting Max drinks it and must sit it out on the toilet, while involuntary standing Luc fails humiliatingly. Max isn't recovered for the boxing match against a scary giant, but this time Jelle manages to spike his corner refreshment water. Alas, Max finds out and gives Luc a cruel taste of his cheaters medicine. Laurens decides to move out of town and urges Jan and his wife, Laurens's adulterous lover, to set their silly pride aside and reconcile. When hospital administrator Frank Opdebeeck hears that crazy nurse Elke denied 'abuse victim' Laura's father access 'as he should be in jail', she's duly suspended and expected to be fired by the board.

Ludwig is not amused being blackmailed by Celine to wed her, yet seems to enjoy the sexual offer and consider a proposal, to avoid exposure as his wife's prime murder suspect. Laurens Pattyn urges Jan to deal with Nelly before their marriage is beyond salvation. Even Jelle and family's intervention couldn't save nurse Elke's airhead butt this time, yet a broken-down lift ends up doing so just after the board voted unanimously to dismiss her.

Ludwig agrees to wed Celine, even grudgingly allows the notary to be instructed drawing up a full co-ownership prenuptial, clearly hoping to undo it later. Kevin failed to discredit Max by planting a Playboy, so he now sabotages his movie night with Elke by fake port accident phone-call. She accepts to go to the movie theater with him instead, but his motorcycle breaks down. 'Commandant' René De Winter is finally home from his Africa voyages, on fisherman Cyriel's boat from England, probing the place but contemplating his death. Sneyers duly mistrusts Joke and herd daughter's elation after a weekend in the Ardennes and 'thearpy' from medium Sarah. Jan has taken Nelly back in, even spoils her rotten, but she's aloof and is startled to secretly test positive for pregnancy. George convinces his old flame to move in.

Commandant René moves into De Schorre pub with a mysterious, heavy chest containing more then African presents, carried in painstakingly by old Cyriel. A bearded Jos-lookalike is released from prison and returns to Wittekerke, where nobody sees trough his his disguise. Celine spends a fortune planning a lavish public wedding with Ludwig. Jos duly worries as Debbie convinces Joke to spend a small fortune on Sara's next 'wellbeing course' in the Ardennes. Nellie tells Sam she's expecting Laurens's baby and dares not tell Jan, who sweetly twisted Frank's arm to give them time off for a Prague weekend trip. Max warns incredulous Elke that rascal Kevin is obviously, understandably but naughtily besotted with her, and indeed he even brags to young Jonas about his alleged latest conquest in movie theater and intimacy. .

Kevin lures Max to the port with another false crime report and locks him inside a dark shipping container all day. Ludwig plays bride Celine and her father, who works the crowd for a possible return as mayor, by turning up late and teasing. Guests enjoy the posh affair only shortly. After working as the wedding photographer, Sneyers suspects ulterior motives in Sara, hearing that Joke didn't enjoy the expensive Ardennes course while daughter Debbie idolizes the woman, who is actually making a lesbian move. His lookalike also takes pictures, for his own use. The commandant makes progress, handing out presents and making up with locals.

Sneyers' disguised lookalike presents himself as Chris Allaert to crone Angèle Robrechts to catch up with all local gossip. Ludwig stirs Jos's suspicion by bitching when Sneyers delivers the wedding pictures while he has a strongbox presumably kept from bride Celine, with home he discusses his freedom in bed. Kevin gets furious at Jonas when the knave refuses to believe his boasting about an affair with Elke, to whom he confesses his love after equally unsuspecting Max's return after a day inside a container, which puzzles the police, but to his fury Elke calls doubting her fidelity childish. After meeting a surfer, Jelle considers reviving the town's once lucrative surf club. While Jan reports his wife missing to Max, Nelly confides into Dirk, whom she swears to reluctant silence, that she's hiding in Holland, without disclosing the pregnancy. Commandant René tells he spent much time in Cameroon, where he got attached to a dirt-poor village, and proves most touchy about some rocks who remind him of it. Joke accidentally discovers daughter Debbie in bed with Sara, promises unsurprised Sneyers not to alienate her further with a lecture on lesbianism, which at reflexion probably was all over the Ardennes estate, but can't help herself.

Ex-con Chris Allaert, having worked out from the wedding pictures and gossip how the town is linked, promises intrigued Sneyers fascinating information about Ludwig, only for now only sends photographs suggesting he paid an unidentified accomplice, then shaves to look just like Jos. Jelle is seen 'breaking in' to the abandoned surf club by an old busybody, but lecturing Max and Luc, who hopes for a revival of the place where he once enjoyed summer as surfing instructor, let Jelle go with a warning. Luc's innocent sandwiches prank, now Rene is cooking instead of flew-infected Julia, goes wrong. Dirk is furious when he finds out his charge Kevin has rudely turned on Elke for being faithful to Max and gives the rascally knave marching orders. Jan is willing to accept Sam's pregnancy, but is shocked when told he isn't the father.

On Sneyers's day off, lookalike Chris strolls into the pub, looking just like him, and is commandeered -unrecognized- to help out -clumsily- serving beer and delivering sandwiches to the police, where Luc is disappointed he refuses to stay for coffee. Jelle makes plans to run the reopened surf-club with his unemployed partner, targeting a younger public then the pub, but learns the estate is way beyond his means. Although Elke refuses to file a complaint against Kevin, which Max grudgingly accepts, the knave declines Nellie's offer to mediate with Dirk, running off after admitting he lured and locked 'rival' Max into the container. Jan warns Sam his patience does not extend to raising another man's child again, but she won't promise an abortion. Julia's nagging gets commandant René to show her his suitcase's African content, and explains his relative belief in a son-less Cameroons witchdoctor's tricks, which he was entrusted with.

Luc tells Jelle not to abandon his surf club plans, promising to ask his sister Celine to consider investing, although Ludwig is clearly against the risky project. Chris still photographs from impersonated Sneyers and promises him more revelations. Max brings runaway Kevin home to Dirk, who agrees to let him stay until a residential therapy is decided. Thanks to Frank, baby Thomas is assigned to Max and Elke's provisional foster care, Sneyers grudgingly accepts that he and the fourth house-mate weren't even consulted. Jan gets his wife to agree to an abortion to save their marriage and arranges a discrete procedure in a neighboring clinic, but rushes out when he spots her adulterous Laurens, who now works there, and saw them too. After the African truth-saying ritual, Julia is convicted that René is destined for her, without realizing so yet.

While the real Sneyers waits in vain for him on the beach, Chris impersonates him to steal a fortune in cash in a briefcase to be delivered for Ludwig by henchman Freddie, for a loan-shark deal, by drugging his coffee after luring him by phone imitating Ludwig's voice. Coached by Luc, Jelle and Merel convince Celine to consider investing in a new surf club, although Ludwig is against such risk. Dirk tries to prevent a suicidal man from jumping from a docks crane, since the police specialist can't arrive in time and his wife refuses to abandon her patient, but he fails. Merel's surprise weekend prevents Chris from meeting Jos as he must continue impersonating him, while the real one strolls into the pub and hears his lover has a surprise for him. Laurens forces Nellie to meet him and discuss her planned abortion of his bastard.

Chris Allaert was forced to go on Jos's weekend trip with nosy lover Merel, but she ends up realizing it's an impostor and their absence brings max and Luc to realize Sneyers couldn't but at two place in the same time, just in time to prevent Allaert from escaping to France by private airplane. Ludwig is meanwhile forced to admit to Celine he has been loan-skarking and she forces him to buy her an extravagant luxury car to explain the missing cash. Dirk bitterly blames Nellie for failing even to try prevent the jumper's suicide on the docks, only to be called erratic in general and actually apologizes to her. Alas, Jonas overheard his non-biological father's unwillingness to be stuck with another man's child. Jan is furious when he hears that Nellie even talked to Laurens, who wants his baby to live.

)Ludwig is greatly relieved to get nearly all his cash back after Chris's arrest and to hear the authorities don't press on asking too embarrassing questions. Max is curious, like Jos, but the cops are preoccupied with a container load of stowaway Croatian refugees, whose language knowledge is insufficient for proper communication. Jonas is frightened when he watches Laurens shake his mother to make her reconsider the abortion and even return to him instead of Jan. The panicking boy runs for help to the precinct, but even Luc can't spare time for him, so he steals his service revolver. Back home, aiming at Laurens, Jonas accidentally shoots his twitching mother, then the aggressor. Jelle and Merel are delighted with the loan terms offered by Ludwig and Celine to reopen the surf club. Rene tells Julia that unlike Cyriel, who also fits the crab prediction, he's no fit partner because the Cameroons witchdoctor's prediction means his death within five months.

Police chief Peter Olivier investigates Jonas's double shooting and has the mayor suspend Luc, who's likely to lose his police job, while the kid goes in child services custody. Dirk refuses to leave the Croatian refugees in the unenthusiastic authorities' hands and tries to organize private host homes, although they're likely to be sent home. He takes in pre-teen Iwan, Jelle, Jos and the pub each a few, Frank refuses. To Jan's regret, only Nellie remains in danger, Laurens and the unborn baby are saved. Ludwig celebrates the surf bar acquisition with Jelle, Merel and champagne, but Frank warns his nurse son he's likely to lose his hospital job.

)Even the volunteers to house Croatian refugees are relieved when the mayor, whom Frank urged to liberate the hospital of those none-patients, arranges for the province to centralize them in a school building. Dirk however gets permission to keep pre-teen Iwan and his mother at home, although they too are likely to be expelled as economic would be-refugees. Suspended cop Luc tries under a false name to intrude the sect estate in the Ardennes and bring Debbie home, but when alerts Sara and cahoots, he's smeared in mud and chased, threatened with stalking charges. In his absence, the chief finds the mayor minding baby Thomas for Max, who is now alone in the precinct. Jelle and Merel must plan a memorable grand re-opening, Sneyers can't help. Laurens is better, demands to know about Nellie and opposes her abortion, legally biding as long as she's comatose, to Jan's physical fury.

Dirk's delight over hosting Iwan and his mother and the campaign to raise donations for the Croatians turns into furious despair when the order arrives to send the illegal economic refugees back. Lic, Sneyers and Joke plan to abduct Debbie back home. Still in coma, Nellie has a spontaneous abortion and awakes with amnesia, meaning Laurens's statement may decide Jonas's fate. Sneyers convinces the house-mates to advertise for a nanny-maid, but meanwhile nobody can mind Thomas, so Max agrees to take the baby to the precinct one last time. His temp cop colleague Kathy however can't stand kids, so he ends up directing traffic with the boy at his chest, which the mayor happens to sees and sanctions with extra evening duty. Despite Jelle's fussing with the experienced temp waitress, his surf club's grad re-opening is a well-attended success. Ludwig enjoys flirting with females, and arrives late in the morning in Celine's bed, scratched. Returning home, Jelle finds his temp in the dunes, badly abused.

Luc, Sneyers and Joke execute heir ill-prepared plan to intrude the sect's Ardennes estate at night, yet manage to kidnap Debie homeward. Frank diagnoses that temp waitress Katy was assaulted to steal her kidney, probably for illegal organ trade, a first in Belgium. To detective Peter Olivier's frustration, it's impossible to keep quiet. The mayor rejects any responsibility in two refugees not arriving at the airport for expulsion back to Croatia, but Dirk, unlike Sam, welcomes Iwan and his mother, the escapees. Laurens is far from impressed by Jan's plea to testify in Jonas's favor to avoid residential therapy. None of the applicants for Thomas as nurse-housemaid satisfies Max's household.

Scheming doctor Philippe Goetvriendt, just back from studies in the US, visits cahoot Celine and forces Frank, trough the mayor, to reinstate him in the hospital, although his plastic surgeon post was canceled. After Sam reports refugees Iwan and his mother's illegal stay in their home to Max, Dirk refuses to hand them over and announces a marriage to Monica to give them citizenship. To Jan's relief, Laurens agrees to testify in Jonas's favor. Sneyers, Luc and Joke watch Debbie non-stop, but fear a sect counter-move and she announces a hunger-strike. Max's household tries out a nurse-maid, who seems satisfactory. While the detective sees no lead in the organ theft case, Ludwig regrets temp waitress Kaatje's fate and concentrates on flirting with Merel instead, but she won't even dance this time.

Max learns about Debbie's 'home kidnapping' just before Sara's official complaint forces him to investigate officially, the inspector luckily prefers to concentrate on the organ theft, the culprit lurks around again. Max and Elke worry that the devoted nurse-maid may see their foster baby Tomas as 'her kid', calling him Jefke. Rene dies, embittering daughter Sam further now Dirk officially demands to wed Iwan's mother Monika. The mayor's dinner ploy appeases the hospital board, but chief of staff Frank drives home drunk and hits a passerby. The court assigns Jonas to semi-residential care.

Jelle is shocked that his just-returned lover Margot was the next organ theft victim, and died after her kidney wound was clumsily closed, perhaps because the culprit was spooked. Despite Max's protestations, inspector Olivier insists to treat nurse Jelle as the logical prime suspect, given his medical abilities and opportunity in both cases. Ludwig forbids Jos to write about the case i his advertising magazine. Sara comes claim Debbie back, is barred entrances but threatens to return with the police to take her overseas. Sam refuses to discuss Dirk's plans while her father's funeral isn't settled, and he wanted no mass, which lover Julia would still prefer. Insulted or dumped by patients, Jan feels like resigning. Frank offers to pay for the woman he ran over's hospital expenses first class, yet is blackmailed to treat her to a month off work.

The organ thief is scared away by tourists on horseback while attacking Merel, who has persuaded Frank to pay for his son's defense. The judge orders Jelle released, as he as in custody during the latest incident. Max manages to brush off Sara for now, but warns Sneyers' party that he can't stop a court-ordered search the next day, so Debbie can't stay, and refuses to take her in. Sam gives startled Dirk and his new family their marching orders. Frank and Nellie talk Jan out of leaving town. Cyriel and Julia dispose at sea of René's African 'magical' stuff and he gets an unceremonious funeral and grave, both as requested.
