Action packed kung fu detective flick
paulavarjack1 August 2012
Warning: Spoilers
A cool little action flick from the late '90's that's being distributed by Evil Genius Entertainment, an outfit that normally reps horror films.

Without giving too much away, we learn quickly that David Juneau is called into Detroit because his brother has been murdered - why, he doesn't know. But he soon realizes that his brother was killed for some secret he stole from a large corporation - who will do nearly anything to get it back...

Speaking of backs, Turkish action star Brock Ercan's back is incredibly harry - I know that because there is a love scene in a shower with a buxom woman. Hard to know what to look at more - her chest or his back.

Harry backs aside, the kung fu in this flick is very good - gritty Detroit-style beat downs come with pleasing regularity - and there's a lot of gun play (using actual real guns I think - a rarity in modern indie flick now a days).

Ercan has a fairly thick accent - think Arnold in his early films - but he's actually quite charismatic and very good at fighting. The story is simple, but the film has quite a bit of style - there's a totally trippy dream/nightmare sequence that David Lynch would be proud of. I don't know where you can find this (I got my copy from and Evil Genius booth a a comic con), but pick it up if you run across it - it's fun
