(*** SPOILERS ***) "Flight" does have a heavily stereotypical and "politically correct" plot (lush Indian - Mancunian girl has forbidden love affair and escapes her patriarchal family to a shelter in London, where she -- and I am not making this up -- has a lesbian fling with a fellow Indian girl), but it still manages to be involving and subtle, especially in its display of the inner workings of an Indian family in a culturally different environment. Surprisingly good considering that it is "only" a TV production, and the actors deliver fine performances.
