This film is about two parallel stories that apparently seem to have nothing to do one with another, except when their main characters cross together almost at the end of the movie
The first story is about António (Miguel Guilherme), a solitary man who was dumped by his girlfriend, Rute (Elsa Valentim), which is now with a theatre's producer. Now Antonio lives with Rosa (Raquel Dias), a friend who is separated too and has a little daughter. They help each other as friends and it is like a relief to their suffering lives.
The other story is about two kids who fell in love, but they can't even speak to each other because of the girl's mother who is a solitary old woman that treats her daughter very bad. These characters, however, are shown in two different phases: when they are really kids (few scenes) and when they are older, adults already.
As I said before these two stories appear separated on the plot and it's hard to understand, in the beginning at least, what links both of them. Most part of the plot is about the first story and this second one just seems to be a surrealistic support to demonstrate the same feelings. The second story is surrounded by mystery, strange ambiences and characters, but demonstrates us the same feelings of the first one: resentment, loneliness and anger, but also love, friendship and mutual supporting
The end appears unexpectedly, it doesn't give us too much answers, but I think that the moment when the main characters from both stories cross together is the crucial moment to all this something seems to change!
Well, this movie is not easy to understand as it seems to pretend to be a bit surrealistic
