Welcome to Fury 161, where we’ve got no entertainment center, no climate control, no video system, no surveillance, no freezers, no fucking ice cream, no rubbers, no guns, but we do have the Halloweenies. So with Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game, you’ve got the Chiodo Bros. involved, you’ve got the classic Dickies song, and you’ve got the classic Klown mannerisms with the gameplay. So what more do you want? How about female Klowns?
With IllFonic’s panel at Pax East yesterday, Stephen Chiodo accidentally let loose news that female Klowns will be coming to the game (which X user Nyzechu caught on film). “That wasn’t on my list of things not to say,” Stephen joked before Edward Chiodo told attendees to refrain from telling anyone. “I think I’m gonna be cocooned,” said Stephen.
“You know what? You’ve gotta let the little things out of the bag. It’s not gonna ruin anything,” Charles Chiodo quipped. The panel did go on to say that they do have more klowns and more content for the game that they haven’t talked about.

You’d think it would be a given that any new project that serves as a follow-up to the 1988 cult classic Killer Klowns from Outer Space (watch it Here) would need to feature two very important elements: the klowns and the famous theme song by The Dickies… but the upcoming Killer Klowns from Outer Space video game is missing one of those elements, as The Dickies have confirmed that their theme song is not being used for the game.
The announcement was made on The Dickie’s Facebook page: Got some gnarly news to share, a true bummer: The Dickies’ Killer Klowns from Outer Space theme song won’t be in upcoming Killer Klowns Video Game. Yeah, makes ya feel a bit gutted. Like a total slap in the face after all the love and loyalty fans have given that song for 36 years. The band really appreciates that you’ve...

It’s hard to imagine Killer Klowns from Outer Space without the iconic theme song from The Dickies, and it’s for that reason that we had been assuming the upcoming Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game would prominently feature the classic track. Unfortunately, The Dickies have taken to Facebook today to let us know that’s not going to be the case.
Michael Pilmer writes on behalf of the band, “Hey Dickies Fans worldwide. We’ve been tracking the progress of the upcoming Killer Klowns from Outer Space video game since it was first announced a couple years ago. Several months ago, we learned that IllFonic had replaced Good Shepherd Entertainment as the publisher of the game and were co-developing it with Teravision Games, and last month it was announced that Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game will be released for PC, Playstation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on June 4th. With that date just a couple months away, a new gameplay video has arrived online (thanks to IGN), and you can check it out in the embed above.

Sunday wasn’t just St. Patrick’s Day, it was also Kurt Russell’s birthday — and the Halloweenies think that’s worth celebrating. After all, for over 45 years, Russell has kept us rooting for him in a smorgasbord of iconic roles: Rj MacReady, Snake Plissken, Jack Burton, Elvis Presley, Wyatt Earp, Santa Claus, Stuntman Mike, Curtis McCabe, Mr. Nobody, Jeff Taylor, Rudy Russo, Eldon Perry, and, of course, Captain Ron.
Don’t forget he also played the great Sheriff Franklin Hunt in 2006’s Bone Tomahawk, one of our favorite films of the 2010s, and yet also one of our first one-off Rentals in our Patreon, The Rewind. So, to celebrate the big guy’s birthday this past Sunday, the gang unlocked said episode on S. Craig Zahler’s 2015 slice of Western Horror, which includes special guests Randall Colburn and Dan Pfleegor of The Losers’ Club.

Producer Jason Blum had said the Paranormal Activity franchise went dormant for a while after the release of 2015’s Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension because he felt the series had gotten tired – and it wasn’t his idea to make Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin, a failed attempt at a revival (that he described as “terrible”), back in 2021. He has been open about the fact that he feels there has been “enough already” when it comes to Paranormal Activity movies. But that doesn’t mean the franchise can’t continue in other ways. A few months back, we heard there’s a stage play in development, and now Variety has broken the news that a Paranormal Activity video game will be released in 2026!

The Halloweenies take a quick post-holiday vacay to Raven’s Fair to discuss James Wan‘s 2007 supernatural horror film, Dead Silence. Together, they discuss Wan’s bleached-out style, the muddled mythology, Donnie Wahlberg‘s scene-stealing performance, and, naturally, 2010’s Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole. Zorro and Expats are the big shows coming to Prime Video in January. The former is what Amazon are calling a “bold reinterpretation” of the classic hero El Zorro for 2024. Starring Miguel Bernardeau as Diego de la Vega and Renata Notni as Lolita Marquez, it’s definitely an intriguing-sounding action-adventure series, with a ten-episode first season based on the iconic character originally created by Johnston McCulley all the way back in 1919.
Meanwhile, upcoming drama series Expats is based on the bestselling 2016 novel The Expatriates by Janice Y. K. Lee, and follows “the vibrant lives of a close-knit expatriate community” in Hong Kong. Nicole Kidman has been known for picking the right kind of shows to lead in the past, so let’s hope this is another banger for the actress, who is also on board as an executive producer here.
Here’s everything coming to Amazon Prime Video and Freevee this month.

2023 was one hell of a year for games. From long-anticipated sequels like Alan Wake II, unexpectedly great remakes like Resident Evil 4 and Dead Space, and killer indies like Amnesia: The Bunker, there was absolutely no shortage in tremendous horror experiences.
What does the future hold? 2024 is already shaping up to be an interesting year with anticipated experiences of its own. These are the games we’re looking forward to next year.
Silent Hill 2: The Remake (PS5)
While I wasn’t the biggest fan of Bloober Team’s Layers of Fear, I can’t help but have some excitement for their upcoming remake of Silent Hill 2, a bona fide survival horror masterpiece that features some of the most iconic imagery in the series. A remake using next-generation hardware seems like a promising prospect. Of course, Konami’s recent handling of their flagship franchises leaves a lot to be...

Thirty-five years down the line from the release of the 1988 cult classic Killer Klowns from Outer Space (watch it Here), fans of the film have access to a whole lot of tie-in merchandise, have made their way through Killer Klowns-themed mazes at Halloween Horror Nights events, and have a video game to look forward to… but we still haven’t seen the sequel the film’s creators have been anxious to make for decades. Now, speaking with SFX magazine, Killer Klowns from Outer Space director Stephen Chiodo has revealed that he’s hoping to bring the sequel idea to life as an eight episode mini-series!
Chiodo told SFX (with thanks to Coming Soon for sharing the text), “My goal is to do an eight-part miniseries for streamers. We’ve got a great concept that continues the story of our main characters. We’ll follow a new group of teenagers...

A major Virgin River mystery has been solved. The two-part Christmas special dropped on Netflix on Nov. 30, and it revealed the answer to the question fans have been asking for months: Who is Mel Monroe’s biological father? The man in question – played by John Allen Nelson – wasn’t anyone we’ve seen before on the show, but if his face looks familiar, there’s a good reason. Nelson’s long career includes roles in a popular soap opera, an iconic 1990s TV show, and a brief appearance in one of the most popular sitcoms in TV history.

The Halloweenies are back in Haddonfield to kick off a new October tradition! After carving out the franchise for a whole year in 2018, then proceeding to slice through the Hallogreen trilogy in 2021 and 2022, they’re finally turning to the stacks. Specifically, the novelizations. So, each spooky season, they’ll dust off those vintage novelizations to cover them in full.
This year, the gang trick or treats through the one that started it all: Curtis Richards’ excellent 1979 novelization of John Carpenter‘s Halloween. Together, co-hosts Michael Roffman and Dan Caffrey flip through all the pages, discussing the added scenes, the way our favorite characters are fleshed out, and whether or not these additions warrant a place in the film.
Bonus: After they discuss the book, Roffman connects with Printed in Blood co-founder and publisher Steven Hoveke, who shares some insights into the forthcoming illustrated reprint due out in 2024. In addition to teasing what to expect,...

Nancy Thompson is one of the great final girls in slasher history, overcoming Freddy Krueger while her friends ended up with knives through the chest and being tossed around bedroom walls. With just A Nightmare on Elm Street, portrayer Heather Langenkamp began getting call after call offering her other horror roles, but all of those were nothing more than, as she put it, a “Taco Bell burrito” – and she means that in a bad way!
Appearing on Michael Rosenbaum’s Inside of You podcast (via MovieWeb), Heather Langenkamp said her love for her trademark character actually helped keep her away from the spotlight, despite the success of A Nightmare on Elm Street. “Like there’s never as good a part as Nancy. It would just be hard to do that. It’d be like, you know, having this great meal with everything there, and then you go and have a Taco Bell burrito.

Haunted house movies have been a cinema staple for well over a century. Lorimer Johnston, Buster Keaton, D. W. Griffith, and Elliott Nugent all knocked on the creaky doors of the subgenre well before film married even sound. It’s a familiar trope, one that has permeated our culture for a very long time. Naturally, as timeless tropes are wont to do, countless filmmakers and writers have added their own signature, and The Changeling is one such example.
Perhaps the greatest? That’s what the Halloweenies debate in their exhaustive breakdown of Peter Medak‘s 1980 masterpiece. Starring George C. Scott, Trish Van Devere, and Melvyn Douglas, the “true story” follows a renown composer, who moves to Seattle from New York City following the deaths of his wife and daughter. The historic society gives him the keys to a dusty mansion, and he soon discovers there’s more than his music floating within its halls.

Ghoulies is not the Gremlins rip-off its reputation suggests. The two films were in production at the same time, but budgetary issues delayed the release of Ghoulies. Although it likely benefited from Gremlins‘ success, the similarities begin and end with diminutive monsters. Ghoulies II actually shares more in common with Gremlins, as the first Ghoulies leans more — arguably too much — into the fantasy realm.
From producer Charles Band’s Empire Pictures, the 1985 horror-comedy is directed by Luca Bercovici (Rockula) from a script he co-wrote with producer Jefery Levy. At just over 80 minutes, the film doesn’t waste time trying to make sense of its messy plot.
When Jonathan Graves (Peter Liapis) inherits an old manor from the father he never knew, he does what any 20-something with newfound freedom would do: throw a party. Something wills Jonathan to perform a ritual from an old book he finds among his father’s occult paraphernalia,...

We’ve been tracking the progress of a Killer Klowns from Outer Space video game for a year now, as developer Teravision Games and publisher Good Shepherd Entertainment had said they were aiming to get the game out into the world sometime in 2023. Now it has been announced that IllFonic will be taking over as the game’s publisher, and will also be co-developing the game with Teravision.
IllFonic’s Charles Brungardt provided the following statement: “When we first started talking to Good Shepherd Entertainment and Teravision Games about this possibility we were very excited about the IP. Then we got to know the team at Teravision and knew we were going to make this happen. Everyone at Good Shepherd has made the handoff process of this project enjoyable, as there is a lot of behind the scenes business in order to make something like this possible. And we are...

IllFonic is obviously no stranger to developing games based on horror properties, having worked on Friday the 13th: The Game with Gun Interactive, as well as Predator: Hunting Grounds and last year’s Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, which they also published.
