Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • A scene where a man punches through a guys stomach while holding a gun in his hand and shoots another man.
  • One of the aliens vomits green stuff in a big glass bowl in close-up shots for 28 seconds.
  • Little blood is seen on the floor of a telephone box.
  • (Deleted. Personal opinions about age rating is not appropriate on the Parents Guide.)
  • 9 years and up can watch.
  • A man gets half his head blown off, we see a closeup of the brain substance, later his buddy is seen eating it.
  • A man get his arm blown off and then he drops a sledgehammer in a buddy´s head, brain starts dripping out.
  • A bunch of aliens are shot.
  • A alien is hit by a car. His body splits in half from the waist.
  • A alien gets his head sawed in half in closeup.
  • A sheep is blown up by a missile.
  • A flap in the back of Derek's head is created after he falls on a rock. It's revealed a small part of his brain has fallen out of it, so he picks it up, opens the flap and stuffs his brain back inside his head.
  • When Derek kills one of the aliens, he takes part of its brain and stuffs it into his own head.

Profanity

  • Frequent use of moderately strong language throughout, including scatological terms (e.g. "shit"), as well as numerous anatomical, derogatory and sexual epithets ("dick-head", "bastard", "wanker", etc.). However, the strongest sexual terms, such as the f-word and it's derivatives, are not heard in the film.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Mike Minett's character smokes throughout the film. No drug or alcohol references.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • "Bad Taste" is a deliberate reference to the film's content. Although the violence is deliberately unrealistic and the tone is generally quite lighthearted, there are a few scenes of very dark comedy which are quite frightening, intense or offensive, rendering the movie unsuitable for those of a particularly sensitive disposition.
  • There are jokes about cannibalism, mutilation, epilepsy and mental illness (a "retarded" alien). There are also some non-violent gross-out visual gags, including a scene where an undercover human character finds himself having to drink alien vomit to prevent his cover being blown.
