Although Cheryl Burke had a beautiful sendoff from Dancing With The Stars, things haven’t been so great since she left. In fact, it seems that she and the executive team are on worse terms than ever before.
In a recent podcast appearance, Cheryl admitted she’s burned some bridges. And in her opinion, the process is much harder than her divorce from actor Matthew Lawrence.
So what exactly happened? And what did Cheryl Burke have to say about the situation? Read on to get the answers.
Cheryl Burke Says Leaving DWTS Was Incredibly Painful

She launched her own podcast, Sex, Lies, & Spray Tans, which has gotten her in some pretty hot water with Dancing With The Stars. Martin Scorsese’s history with the Academy Awards hasn’t always been cheerful, but the veteran filmmaker managed to grab one for The Departed in 2007. The Boston-set crime thriller exposed the many institutional problems with crime fighting. By the end of the film, all the ‘rats’ end up dead, sending a clear message about the film’s themes to the viewers. However, Warner Bros. wasn’t exactly thrilled that Scorsese killed off the stars of the film.
Martin Scorsese on the sets of The Departed with Leonardo DiCaprio and Jack Nicholson
In the film, Leonardo DiCaprio’s Billy Costigan and Matt Damon’s Colin Sullivan were working as moles in the Irish mob and the Massachusetts State Police respectively. Both stars were assets to WB if the movie were ever made into a franchise, but Scorsese had very different plans for them.

Let Them Eat Trump Steaks
Late-night hosts had some fun mocking their exponentially richer rich people colleagues, as annual Forbes magazine list of the world’s billionaires hit newsstands this week. Sure, TV personalities do fine, but nobody with a talk show is going to be popping up alongside newly crowned billions-havers like Magic Johnson, Taylor Swift, and—despite all his massive fines and pending financial ruin—Donald Trump, who managed to hang onto his place on the coveted list of the covetous by his fingernails.
As Stephen Colbert put it concerning the former President currently in New York in one of his many criminal and civil trials, “Coming in on the list at number 1,438 is Donald Trump…He’s the only billionaire on the list who...

As part of the enduring mission of Tibet House US to “protect, preserve, and empower the unique Tibetan culture,” the 2024 edition of the Tibet House Benefit Concert opened as per usual with entrancing chants from Tibetan Monks. Tibet House President Bob Thurman (and Hawke’s grandfather) gave opening remarks before one of the evening’s co-artistic directors, Laurie Anderson, took the stage. Accompanied by Martha Mooke, Shazad Ismaily, Tenzin Choegyal, and Gina Gershon on the jaw harp (!!), Anderson performed her Big Science B-side “Walk the Dog.”

CBS’s new remake of True Lies premiered on Wednesday, March 1. It combines action and comedy in the latest iteration, hoping to reign in audiences.
TV Fanatic chatted with Omar Miller, who plays Gib, who shared his favorite parts about his character, some teasers for True Lies Season 1, and why audiences should stick with the show.
Check out the interview below:
Hello Omar. I have enjoyed your acting since I first saw you on CSI: Miami many years ago. What is your favorite part of playing Gib on CBS’s True Lies?
My favorite part of playing Gib is the interaction and the character’s direction playing the team leader. I love that he’s the longest-serving agent and how whatever has happened in the field has led him to be the tactical logistics and tech person. He quarterbacks the team from a distance, which is cool and high-tech.

The Challenge rotates returning players and rookies for each season. Depending on the theme, viewers might not see a favorite for a few seasons. Here are five recent competitors who should return for next season.
Olivia Kaiser and Horacio Gutiérrez
The rookie standouts landed in back-to-back eliminations almost immediately after entering the competition and won both. They earned the respect of the house and avoided the Zone until episode 8 when her fling Nelson Thomas opted to save his rival Fessy Shafaat over her.
Regardless, with the help of the house, they sent home targets Jay Starrett and Michele Fitzgerald. When they split into teams, Horacio found himself in the Zone twice, and he eliminated Kenny Clark and three-time champ Jordan Wiseley, tying a franchise record for most elimination wins in a season.
Sounds like Olivia and Horacio balance out each other well! But can they stay on the same page while on The Challenge?...

The Challenge veteran Amanda Garcia last competed in Spies, Lies, and Allies, where she hooked up with Fessy Shafaat, and they attempted a relationship after the show. They have since split, and Amanda has reunited with her ex Ray Reinhardt. After skipping season 38’s Ride or Dies, she might have hinted at a return.
Amanda Garcia hints at return to ‘The Challenge’
During last season’s Spies, Lies, and Allies, Amanda Garcia nearly made the finals before Tori Deal eliminated her shortly beforehand. She then skipped Ride or Dies as veteran Nelson Thomas claimed he initially reached out to partner with her for the season.
The Colorado native tweeted that she didn’t watch Ride or Dies but congratulated Devin Walker for getting his first win, conveniently leaving out Tori.

From the outset, Sumner Redstone was a curiosity.
A cluster of power players 50 years ago were suddenly bidding for control of Hollywood’s revered movie studios. Competition was intense but most of the bidders were not even “movie” people. In fact, they’d rarely seen a movie.

The exception was a cantankerous lawyer from Boston who’d inherited a small chain of theaters. Unlike characters like Steve Ross (funeral business), Kirk Kerkorian (airplanes) or Rupert Murdoch (newspapers), Redstone was passionate about film. He wanted to champion filmmaking and build a media conglomerate around that zeal.

There was a period when the "James Bond" franchise was dead for a few years, following Timothy Dalton's somewhat disappointing (commercially speaking) two-film run in the late '80s. After 1989's "License to Kill," the series was in need of reinvention, which would eventually come in a big way with 1995's massive hit "GoldenEye." Pierce Brosnan managed to bring Bond to the '90s in style, with the huge help of ace director Martin Campbell behind the camera. 007 was back in a big, bad way. You’re never quite sure what Steven Soderbergh is going to do next. And that mercurial sensibility is part of his charm. The man who burst onto the scene at the age of 26 with his erotic thriller Sex, Lies, and Videotape has played in so many sandboxes, from crime comedies (Out of Sight, the Ocean’s trilogy) and drug-trade epics (Traffic) to sports dramas (High Flying Bird) and breezy Meryl Streep vehicles (Let Them All Talk). He’s directed 13 feature films and created two TV series in the last 12 years alone.

These days, it’s refreshing to speak with someone like Mike Leigh whose vocabulary hasn’t been corrupted by the latest Hollywood trends. For example, when Leigh uses the word “content,” it’s doesn’t mean the same thing as 98 of his peers, for whom the term has come to describe the swill that fills the various streamers’ pipelines.
For Leigh, “content” refers to the substance of a film or play, as I found when asking Leigh, who is the subject of a 14-film, career-spanning retrospective by New York’s Film at Lincoln Center — from “Bleak Moments” to “Peterloo,” with two shorts thrown in for good measure — where he thinks audiences unfamiliar with his work ought to begin.

It took an extra day but True Lies, which had been expected to get a nod yesterday, along with CBS’ other new series orders, is officially picked up to series. As Deadline reported yesterday, the reboot of James Cameron’s hit 1994 action comedy movie, from Matt Nix, McG, Cameron and 20th Television, is targeted for midseason. It joins CBS’ other newly picked up hourlong series, Fire Country, East New York and So Help Me Todd, which are expected to be on the fall schedule.
It is no surprise that CBS and True Lies studio 20th Television needed an extra day to hammer out a deal given the companies’ complicated history over the last decade. This is 20th TV’s first hourlong series order at CBS in 12 years, since dramedy Chaos, whose initial series pickup dramatically fell through after the two sides could not agree on a deal. After winning the Best Limited Series/TV Movie Supporting Actor Emmy for his turn as Detective Colin Zabel on HBO’s “Mare of Easttown,” Evan Peters is looking to pull off the highly specific thing Alexander Skarsgard did three years ago for “Big Little Lies”: follow his inaugural Emmy victory for an insanely popular HBO murder mystery that bagged three acting Emmys, in which he shares nearly all his scenes with the lead actress Emmy champ and in which his character dies, with his first solo Screen Actors Guild Award in the sole actor category with a supporting turn.
Even though “Mare” raked in one fewer Emmy acting nomination than “Big Little Lies” did in 2017, it earned its acting bids in the exact same three categories as its HBO companion: actress (“Mare”: Kate Winslet; “Lies”: Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon), supporting actress (“Mare”: Julianne Nicholson and...

Lies of P is a new “Souls” inspired action-rpg that echoes by the basic story points of the classic 1883 tale of Pinocchio. A new South Korean developer Round 8 Studios is taking the essential DNA of Bloodborne and even Sekiro and crafting something wholly unique. The story of Pinocchio is most widely known through the Disney incarnation of this tale. Of course, many stories of old have been adapted by the mouse which, in turn, doesn’t really hold true to the source material. Lies of P is turning toward the original darker tone of this story and driving it

The meltdowns were aplenty in this week’s episode of The Challenge, and while some of the sobbing was game-related, the rest of it was just a classic case of the beer tears.
Episode 2 seems a bit early for things to fall apart for the “agents,” but with that much money on the line and a pressure-cooking competition at hand, emotions are running at an all-time high. As the house continued its efforts to snipe out the rookies, a love triangle (of sorts) formed around Nelson that sent Ashley Mitchell into quite a dramatic tizzy. Director Chris McKay is making his live-action directorial debut with “The Tomorrow War.”
The “The Lego Batman Movie” director’s upcoming film is set in 2051, a time in which mankind is losing a war against an alien army and the world’s only hope for survival are the present-day soldier and civilian recruits being transported into the future to join the fight. Among these recruits is high school teacher and veteran Dan Forester (Chris Pratt), who teams up with a brilliant scientist (Yvonne Strahovski) and his estranged father (J.K. Simmons) to save the planet for his young daughter and wife.
Intent on telling a human story alongside a story of deadly aliens from the future, McKay says he changed the whole third act of the script to properly detangle Dan’s complicated relationship with his father and give each character a moment to pop back up and in a way,...

With victories for “The Piano Lesson” in 1996 and “Miss Evers’ Boys” in 1998, Alfre Woodard became the first double winner of the best TV movie/limited series actress prize at the SAG Awards. Only two actresses (Helen Mirren and Queen Latifah) have matched her feat since, and now Nicole Kidman (“The Undoing”) is looking to join the club.
Kidman faces off against Cate Blanchett (“Mrs. America”), Michaela Coel (“I May Destroy You”), Anya Taylor-Joy (“The Queen’s Gambit”) and Kerry Washington (“Little Fires Everywhere”). Kidman previously won this award for “Big Little Lies” in 2018. Coel and Taylor-Joy are SAG newcomers, while Blanchett has earned three wins for feature film performances. Washington was recognized in this category in 2017 for her role in “Confirmation,” but she has yet to win a SAG Award.

The far-and-away front-runner in our Golden Globes odds, Netflix’s “The Queen’s Gambit” looks unbeatable in the Best TV Movie/Limited Series category, judging from the combined predictions of Gold Derby users. But not so fast, I say! It’s nominated against Amazon’s “Small Axe,” Netflix’s “Unorthodox,” HBO’s “The Undoing” and Hulu’s “Normal People,” which trail it in that exact order in our odds. Here are six reasons why you should have “The Undoing” much higher in your predictions and shouldn’t be shocked if it snatches the “Queen’s” predestined crown.

Yet another veteran of Buffy the Vampire Slayer has publicly offered support for Charisma Carpenter after her allegations yesterday of abuse and “misconduct” by Joss Whedon on the supernatural series.

The Super Bowl Halftime show is the biggest stage on Earth for a musician, and the Weeknd made the most of his 12-odd minutes on Sunday night, delivering a tightly choreographed, technologically dazzling set that not only lived up to some of the most iconic performances of the past, it also touched on songs and images from all across his decade-long career — and he did it under strict pandemic restrictions, before a stadium that was approximately one-tenth full.
In the week leading up to the game, the Weeknd had said that his main stage would be located in the stands — although he would utilize the field as well — and that it would continue the cryptic bad-night-in-Las-Vegas storyline that has accompanied all of the videos and TV performances around his blockbuster latest album, “After Hours.” All of those things proved true (although the connection to the storyline was even more cryptic...

The Weeknd already said that he doesn’t plan to have any special guests for his Super Bowl halftime performance later today — but that didn’t stop James Corden from popping by rehearsals for some unexpected assistance with the show.
In this comic skit, Corden turns up at rehearsals not only in the same red-jacketed outfit that the Weeknd has worn through the entire storyline around his “After Hours” album — but wearing the same full head of bandages that have confused fans ever since he rolled them out in November (the Weeknd explained the motivation behind the bandages in an exclusive interview with Variety last week). Despite the Weeknd’s insistence that he doesn’t need any help, Corden runs him through the paces — singing, working out, trying to perform while Corden throws footballs at him (which is actually reminiscent of Eric Andre’s hilarious “Rap Ninja Warriors” skit of a few years ago).

Super Bowl Lv starts at 6:30 p.m. Et at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla. The Kansas City Chiefs and quarterback Patrick Mahomes will face off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, led by quarterback Tom Brady, for football’s — and television’s — biggest event of the year.
Festivities will kick off with country star Eric Church and R&b artist Jazmine Sullivan singing the National Anthem, while H.E.R. will sing “America the Beautiful.” Inaugural poet Amanda Gorman will join the pregame ceremonies and recite an original poem that recognizes three honorary Super Bowl captains: Los Angeles teacher Trimaine Davis, Tampa Bay nurse Suzie Dorner and Marine veteran James Martin.
The Weeknd will headline the halftime show as the first-ever Canadian solo performer. At a recent press conference, he did not give away too many details. Given the violent thematics of smash album “After Hours,” he did note the performance will be family friendly.

The pandemic ensures that the Weeknd’s halftime performance at the Super Bowl will be like none before. And in a brief interview for the NFL Network posted Thursday, he revealed another break with tradition: There will be no special guest.
Asked by sportscaster Kay Adams, he laughs and shakes his head before saying: “I’ve been reading a lot of rumors… I wouldn’t bet on it. There wasn’t any room to fit it in the narrative, in the story I was telling in the performance. So yeah. There’s no special guests.”

So, it seems there won’t be anyone like Beyonce, Travis Scott, Bruno Mars, Missy Elliott, M.I.A. or any other Super Bowl halftime special guests from recent years — or past collaborators like Daft Punk, Ariana Grande, Lana Del Rey, Rosalia or Doja Cat...

The Weeknd shared some details about his headlining halftime performance at Super Bowl Lv during a press conference on Thursday. The show takes place on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, Fla., and will be broadcast on CBS. It will also feature a pregame show by Miley Cyrus, the National Anthem sung by H.E.R., “America the Beautiful” sung by country artist Eric Church and R&b singer Jazmine Sullivan, and a poem from Amanda Gorman, who spoke at President Joe Biden’s inauguration. In order to clear up some confusion over the bandages covering his face in recent videos — which is part of his larger storyline around his “After Hours” album — the Weeknd spoke exclusively with Variety earlier this week.
