Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • A swan is caught and killed in a mill's water wheel, and is then seen floating dead with light blood on it's body. A Wizard then uses his magic to restore it to life.
  • Ann Innkeeper's dead body is shown in the aftermath of an ogre attack, but not graphically.
  • The battle between two Dragons and an Ogre is quite physical.
  • There are several battles, most of which are fantastical, as 99% of this movie takes place in a magical world.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A pair of dragons devour an inn's entire stock of ale and are shown slurring their words (but the scene is played for comic effect).

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A Wizard's proposed world filled with grotesque men of greed and violence and culminating in apocalyptic warfare may be unsettling to some.
  • The most intense scene in the film is an Ogre destroying an inn to capture members of the quest. The battle with him that follows is also intense, and the Ogre's appearance may be scary for young children.
  • The scene where the chattering of Sand Murks threatens to drive some of the characters insane is quite intense, as is the characters' attempts to block it out, showing them getting increasingly more intense and agonised.
  • There are lots of fantasy creatures featured, some of which, like the Worm, Ogre, Sand Murks, Ommadon, and possibly even the evil dragons may be a little intense for very young and/or sensitive viewers.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • All the members of the Magic Quest are defeated and killed by the forces of dark magic in the climax, but return to life as soon as the evil force is vanquished.
  • An elderly dragon who plays a vital role in the story dies of exhaustion after battling and defeating an Ogre. He passes peacefully, but the scene is very poignant.
