Not surprising that Bonnie Franklin would be involved
with a film like this.
But, it's difficult to watch Margaret Sanger being celebrated.
And not because of the organization she founded.
But, because she was a staunch supporter of eugenics,
and a rabid socialist.
While those two philosophies have come together once before
and led directly to the holocaust.
This program completely glosses over Sanger's both of these
issues, and tries to elevate her to a near sainthood level.
It's not badly done, the problem is, its written to support the nearly
life-long work of Sanger to promote abortion as a birth control measure.
Her efforts in the black neighborhoods has also been neatened up here.
I thought we had learned our lesson at the end of World War II, when the
world saw what socialist eugenics wrought.
