funny, fancy talking, a lot of hair and a background microphone appearing on the screen!

what do you need more? fortunately the movie had a good ending.

not bad at all for lovers of this genre.

I'm not the only one!

I rented this movie in high school because it looked a sure bet to show some tits. It did, but it was also funny as hell. I figured I was the only person in the world who had seen it and remembered it. Thank god, I don't feel quite as pathetic.

This brings back memories

I rented this movie because I was a young kid with percolating hormones.

The movie is absolutely terrible. Everything was badly executed and crapped into a VHS box. A very, very large VHS box.

The plot is very simple, and there's not much going on. Characters from the Archie comic books are in a live action sex comedy. When I watched this 30 years ago, my brother and I wondered if it was really an adult film edited to a heavy R rating. We never found out.

Anyway, this movie is trash. It was horrible then, and is probably horrible now. I might see if I can find it and watch it one more time for nostalgia.

Mcbride's early starting flick is okay (not bad)

I can't believe this was made by the guy who did the Breathless remake and The Big Easy. This seventies American Grattifi film is something of a wonder. It's of better quality than you think. When I first saw it, I just remembered it as being a sleazy 80's 4/10 movie, then it took a couple of viewings to realize it was more. The first view, I don't think I ever got to the end. Our protagonist, Archie, has got it HARD. He's undersexed, his friends go out with better looking girls, where Archie has to make do with 6/10 sorts. His Sister is hot and horny, which of course aggravates him, almost to the point of exploding, though this isn't the only time of the movie wee feel this. He likes to perv on her too. Archie is having to wait, to go all the way with his girl. At one point he ends up on a porn film where he's on top of a young hottie, where for Archie, they may'be some light at the end of the tunnel, yet. So we don't have a badly made film, that's inspirational. You could re title this film as "The Young And Sexually Frustrated".

A nice little piece of Americana and the precursor to Porky's
pacmann23 July 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Let's call a spade a spade, "Hot Times" is campy, a bit over the top, with gross jokes, lots of female nudity and bad mid 1970s haircuts. And yet when I watched this on Cinemax back in the 1980s and felt that is was almost hardcore, now I realize it was just a little piece Americana that showed what some kids were really doing in the mid 1970s in the East coast. It can be called a parody of the "Archie" comic book series, but it slightly changes the names, and although the jokes are dated and, only one member of the cast has actually had a decent film career, it is not as pretentious as "Porky's", "H.O.T.S" and "Preppies". Ther plot revolves about the sexual happening of one Archie Anders who, has great looking classmates and screwup best friends in his high school. The home life is not much better with rigid parents, and sleeping in with the older sister, who is a nag,but as we find out later has quite a body. The movie is tongue in cheek and not as over the top as many would have reviewed back in the day.The jokes are actually funny, and those who lived back then could relate. Worth a look, I even got a copy from a local store in its original huge VHS box. Thumbs up!

Harmless fun, BAAW!

What makes this movie so fun and enjoyable to watch is the constant "beeping" in the movie. Almost every time that one of the characters say a "bad" word, you hear this beep, like in the Jerry Springer show but then much better and much funnier. The story of course is inferior, but who cares! the acting is surprisingly good, especially by Archie Anders and the crazy taxi driver.

The music during the movie is comic, underlined by those beeps and other sound effects. It also shows the city of New York in a time when it was a dump.

Watch out for the polish jokes sequence for some fine laughs, although the entire movie is pretty funny.

PS: Watch it with some friends, beer and nuts! guaranteed success

Archie meets Cheech n Chong

I've seen this movie too. If you know who the Archies are then you might enjoy this spoof. At least you will finally see Archie get laid. This is a good movie to sit back and relax with your buds and down a few 6 packs.
