So... T&A Movie without any T or A?
LamendolaM24 December 1999
Such a paradox can be found in the film BLAZING STEWARDESSES. Even though this picture has low ratings, there is still much to be gained if one enjoys shotty B movies such as this. From the director's note at the beginning which states that this movie is dedicated to the Hollywood actors of the golden era, to the solid five minutes of stock footage concerning parades and rodeos, to Yvonne DeCarlo singing (yep.), to 30 mph car chases, all the way to the genuinely funny antics of the Ritz Brothers, this movie can be entertaining. Note that the movie does not pick up until about 25 minutes in, so be patient! So, for the average movie renter, I say stay away. But, for the hardcore B movie fan, this is a must rent!

Warning: Spoilers
What a mix of ideas!

The sequel to The Naughty Stewardesses, this was supposed to be a 1940s throwback, which is why the Ritz Brothers - well, Harry and Jimmy as Alan had died - as well as Yvonne De Carlo, Don "Red" Barry and Robert Livingston are all in the cast. It was supposed to star the Three Stooges - which would have been Moe Howard, Joe DeRita and Emil Sitka - but Moe was too sick to be able to be in it.

It was going to be called The Jet Set before Blazing Saddles came out and the film became a Western, even if it's also been released under the titles Cathouse Cowgirls, Texas Layover and The Great Truck Robbery.

At least the girls from the first movie - Debbie (Connie Hoffman), Barbara (Marilyn Joii) and Lori (Regina Carroll) - are back. They take a vacation at the Lucky Dollar Ranch, which is run by Brewster (Livingston), who is also playing the role he had in The Naughty Stewardesses. Masked riders soon appear and attack. There's also a brothel that's owned by Honey Morgan (De Carlo).

Would you enjoy watching the Ritz Brothers eat a really big sandwich from an entire movie? Then this is for you. That said, they were really influential among comedians if not successes in Hollywood. They also are in Won Ton Ton, the Dog Who Saved Hollywood.

Wasn't Sexy, Suspenseful or in the Least Bit Funny
Uriah4330 October 2015
Terribly depressed after finding her boyfriend in bed with another woman, "Debbie Stewart" (Connie Hoffman) goes home to her apartment to have a drink. While there she gets a phone call from an old friend named "Ben Brewster" who has a proposition for her. He wants to convert his dude ranch into a gambling casino and to do that he has invited a number of gamblers to his place. To get there he has chartered an airplane but he needs stewardesses to cater it. So he offers Debbie and any other stewardesses she can get two free weeks at the dude ranch as payment for their services. What none of them realize however is that there are some masked riders who will stop at nothing to prevent Ben Brewster from accomplishing his plans. Now rather than reveal any more I will just say that I honestly expected more from this movie. Unfortunately, it wasn't sexy, suspenseful or in the least bit funny. As a matter of fact, about the only thing going for this film was the presence of Connie Hoffman and even then it really didn't help matters that much. In short, this movie wasn't very good and I have rated it accordingly.

Low-budget homage to '40s westerns; familiar cast is the only asset
smacgillivray11 September 2000
BLAZING STEWARDESSES suggests a T & A movie, but it's a low-budget western which tries awfully hard to imitate horse operas of the '40s. Masked killers on horseback terrorize a western town, where girls mingle with guests at a dude ranch. Former cowboy stars Don "Red" Barry and Robert Livingston have character roles, and Yvonne DeCarlo has a featured role. Best scenes involve The Ritz Brothers (Harry and Jimmy), who offer comedy relief as ranch hands.

If you're looking for something sexy, this will disappoint you, but old-movie buffs and Ritz Brothers fans may give it points for good intentions.

Stewardesses Are Easy
bkoganbing8 July 2009
The most amazing thing I found out about Blazing Stewardesses is that this is a sequel film. I can't believe that Naughty Stewardesses created a demand for a sequel.

I can only imagine what the other film was like, this one falls just short of pornography. In fact I've seen porn films that have a better plot line.

Connie Hoffman, Regina Carrol, and Marilyn Joi are the stewardesses who really believe in full service flights, especially on this charter flight that former B picture cowboy Robert Livingston has hired. He's running a dude ranch and he's bringing in gambling to really spice the place up.

Yvonne DeCarlo is a brothel madam and Don 'Red' Barry is also on hand in this film. The girls wind up going there where there is an elaborate sequence involving a blowup girl, the kind Bud Bundy was razzed about on Married With Children. I've seen better humor at frat parties.

The two surviving Ritz Brothers are also on hand as general all around help on Livingston's ranch. What a come down they and the rest had in doing this trash.

The story such as it is involves the hijacking of Livingston's gambling equipment by parties who don't want to see him succeed. If you care to sit through this you can find out the who and the why.

I don't think it's worth it.

Al Adamson couldn't make comedies, either.
Flixer195722 October 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Stewardess Regina Carrol, a brunette this time out, goes to a dude ranch with her equally air-headed friends. Ranch owner Robert Livingston wants to bring in gambling; bad guys are after the oil on his land so they hijack his casino equipment and burn his employees with branding irons. Yvonne DeCarlo runs a cat-house and, at one point, breaks into song; her singing is the more criminal offense. The two surviving Ritz Brothers, in the movie's comic "high point," try to hitch a ride by showing their legs. Except for one scene involving a blow-up doll and another of a nude woman standing on her head, BLAZING.... could have been rated PG. This boring "comedy" has no laughs whatsoever and is a blatant insult to the Hollywood stunt men to whom it's dedicated. I can't imagine flight attendants being thrilled with it either.

I wanted to die.
glitch-310 April 1999
Never before have I contemplated suicide until I saw this movie. It seemed like a skin flick that never got started. This film wasted 95 minutes of my life that I will NEVER get back.

What a horrible career sunset for long-time actors
bodhimojo25 January 2005
I rented out this DVD set with both Blazing Stewardesses and Naughty Stewardesses because I expected some cheap fun exploitation flick with a cast of recognizable names. Something like 1979's 'Gas Pump Girls' made in the 70s that included Huntz Hall from the old Bowery Boys movies, or 1976's Won Ton Ton - The Dog That Saved Hollywood, which brought out a lot of stars from the 30s to 50s.

There are tons of rotten films that seem made for drive-in theater dates during the 1950s through the 1980s. There's absolutely no reason to actually watch these movies because of lack of plot and continuity. There might be a flash of flesh but overall they were disappointing, so you might as well focus on your date in the back seat. But to see actors with 30+ years of film and stage credit to their names take on roles for this crap is flat-out sad. Either the money had to be good or Don Barry, Robert Livingston, Yvonne DeCarlo, and the Ritz Brothers were blackmailed or coerced. These films were so bad that if you have the chance at a convention or wherever to meet the idiots responsible for this mess - seems as though writers John D'Amato and Samuel Sherman are still alive, while director Al Adamson is dead - punch them in the nose.

Connie Hoffman really only reason to watch
gibbog28 April 2005
Warning: Spoilers
Scattershot movie made to capitalize on the "success" of "The Naughty Stewardesses". Rather painful to watch in spots, such as Yvonne De Carlo singing and the Ritz Brothers dancing!!! Nowhere near as good as "Naughty" was, with no real story. Regina Carrol's voice was grating and very annoying, not sure if she was dubbed or not, if she wasn't she sure gave one horrible performance here.

Appearance of the Ritz Brothers was funny in spots, but their dance routine was an embarrassment. Expected more nudity from an Al Adamson film, especially from the 3 female leads. On the DVD audio commentary Sam Sherman said at one stage Adamson wanted out of the project. It's too bad he didn't decide to go ahead with it.

Connie Hoffman looks awesome, as she did in "Naughty", and Marilyn Joi and Regina Carrol also look great, but that would really be the only reason to watch this. Recommended only for fans of Al Adamson.

Not recommended for laughs
funkyfry4 January 2007
Warning: Spoilers
an awful Al Adamson movie with a bunch of Z list Western actors and singers, almost no exploitation value, and the Ritz Brothers doing very unfunny comic "relief".

The story is about 3 stewardesses who go to a ranch to party at the opening of a casino. One of the girls almost gets caught up in a prostitution ranch, and they end up meeting an undercover agent who is investigating robbery attempts on slot machines.

How the Ritz Brothers ended up in this 1970s T&A film is probably a more interesting story than the movie itself. I didn't laugh more than 2 or 3 times during the film though, and none of them were because of the Ritz Bros.

Red Barry is the only Western actor in the film who has any real popularity. He's sadly wasted in this one. The presence of Yvonne DeCarlo might excite some TV fans, but in this film basically she was supposed to be much sexier than she was, plus we had to sit through an excruciatingly bad song routine.

Not Good but One Saving Grace.....
arfdawg-114 December 2020
This is really a bad movie. And for the life of me I don't get how they got several former stars to be in this when it's really a soft core porn film.

The only good thing about this is that Larry Fine had a stroke before filming and the Three Stooges had ot be replaced by the remaining living Ritz Brothers.

This would have been a very sad ending to the Stooges career which despite the baroque violence were always kid-friendly.

Great B-Movie
smcarter196611 May 2007
I recently got NAUGHTY STEWARDESSES and BLAZING STEWARDESSES from a on-line rental service and decided to recreate the Stewardesses Drive-In double feature. As NAUGHTY is more of a exploitation film, BLAZING is actually a throw back to the old REPUBLIC and MONOGRAM Saturday afternoon B westerns starring John Wayne, Gene Autry, and Roy Rogers.

In fact, if you took out the sex scenes, it would be no more harmful than an old B western.

The performances are good, especially by Regina Caroll's comic turn. If you thought her film roles only required her to "look pretty and scream a lot" will be surprised by her role in BLAZING. Two of the three Ritz Brothers are in the film as comic relief and they rise up to their task.

So, if you like old Drive-In flicks, check out BLAZING STEWARDESSES. You can't go wrong with this one.

Good bad fun.
nsm55518 April 2004
I first saw this film during a Saturday matinee at the Pequa Theatre in Massapequa Park, NY. It was on a double bill with "Girls for Rent". Since it was R rated, my friends and I had to sneak in to see it, which made it even tastier. OK....this is a VERY bad film. It will never make any ten best lists, and it probably wouldn't interest 9/10ths of the current population, BUT for lovers of low budget fun this is the proverbial jackpot. Firstly, it features a cast of old timers: Yvonne DeCarlo, Donald "Red" Barry, Bob Livingston, and best of all, the two surviving Ritz Brothers (their brother, Al, had passed away in 1965). It also features musical numbers (Miss DeCarlo sings a HORRIBLE song at a barbecue, and the Ritz's follow her with one of their patented dance numbers.). It also has a western plot right out of Gower Gulch. Cowboys, Arabs, goggle eyed comics, oldtime movie stars, busty broads, and all on a budget 0f less that 70 grand! Brother, this is living!

Wretched, perplexing, wrinkly
Papa_Legpa15 July 2001
Me and my friends rented this movie hoping for a mindless fun movie with maybe some cute women to look at. We were horribly horribly wrong. It wasn't until maybe half way through it that we realized what the problem was exactly. Clues : One of the women had the body of a 20 year old but the face of an 80 year old. Boring incredibly long masked horse rider scenes that seem unrelated to the actual movie (maybe we weren't paying enough attention to the plot but you shouldn't HAVE to in a movie like this!) The biggest clue of all was the appearance of the Ritz Brothers. I have not seen any of the Ritz Brother's early work. I had never heard of them before this movie. The Ritz Brothers make several cameo appearances in some of the most disgusting, painful, grotesque "comedy" routines ever put on film. Frankly I'm shocked the other reviewers here thought they were funny. The Ritz Brothers are two very old (VERY) men who just want to entertain the nice people! In the first scene we get to see one of the Ritz brothers bony wrinkly legs, thighs and all. We get to watch them eat a giant sandwich for a long time. The pinnacle of their grotesqueness is when the old Ritz Brother gets scrambled eggs all over his face. PICTURE IT. Eggs dripping down a whimpering old man's face. Does this make you laugh, or vomit? Rent Blazing Stewardess to find out.

Also rent Blazing Stewardesses if you want to see a big fat drunk guy have sex with a blow up doll in a scene that goes on for way too long.

Strange Homage from Adamson
Michael_Elliott14 July 2015
Blazing Stewardesses (1975)

* 1/2 (out of 4)

Semi-sequel to THE NAUGHTY STEWARDESSES finds Ben Brewster (Robert Livingston) asking Debbie (Connie Hoffman), Lori (Regina Carrol) and Barbara (Marilyn Joi) to come help him on a ranch he's getting off the ground. This family-friendly location comes under attack from some masked bandits and it might be from the jealous Mike Trask (Don 'Red' Barry).

BLAZING STEWARDESSES comes from Al Adamson and like most of his movies it's pretty much a complete mess but I will admit that there's quite a bit here for film buffs to enjoy as long as they're in the right frame of mind and don't mind seeing some veteran actors making fools of themselves at times. This is a pretty strange flick because the title is clearly meant to capitalize on BLAZING SADDLES but it's also being sold as a sequel to Adamson's 1974 film. Those expecting a sexploitation movie are going to be disappointed because outside of one scenes, there's very little nudity on display and one has to wonder why they even bothered connecting this movie to THE NAUGHTY STEWARDESSES.

This film is really just a throwback to the 1930s Hollywood. This film clearly means to pay homage to the comedy and westerns from that era and that fully explains why you've got people like Livingston and Barry on hand. There's also Yvonne De Carlo from The Munsters series as well as Harry and Jimmy from The Ritz Brothers. If you're a fan of any of these people then you'll probably get a small kick out of seeing them in their elder days playing up against their previous characters. I must admit that I've always enjoyed The Ritz Brothers and I found some of their acts here to be funny. Hoffman isn't nearly as good here as she was in the previous film but then again she's not given much to do.

In the end, BLAZING STEWARDESSES is simply too boring to be fully entertaining. Once again there's way too much stuff going on and none of it is written all that great. If you're a fan of the vetaran cast members then you might want to check it out but others should avoid.

Are good ole boy Al Adamson.
cannibalcam6 October 2006
Are good ole boy Al Adamson. Quite a cheap man and laid to waste some of the most sought after genre's. Such classics as Dr. Dracula, Black Heat, I Spit On Your Corpse, Blood Of Ghastly Horror, Cinderella 2000, and on and on. He made a crap load of movies lets put it that way. This double dose of Adamson exploitation is served up in one juicy booby platter.

Lets get this started with The Blazing one, a Mel Brooks wanna be after his success with Blazing Saddles. One thing you have to keep in mind when watching a flick like this one. Don't expect much to happen. There is so much filler in this movie that it doesn't even really go anywhere. It painfully hurts to watch the whole thing without putting on the fast forward. The best thing is the usual Yvonne De Carlo as the titular star of this, and Naughty. She hobbles around in scenery meant for a vacation promo video. On and on the scenes drag of horses, her walking up and down the streets to find cute knick knacks at local vendor shops in the islands of whatever. Sure the woman are hot, put nothing happens. I think the music holds the entire movie with its swinging' jazz, 70's style baby. Loads of old school actors that unfortunately, ended up in a film like this. The Ritz Brothers (Old time slap stick favorites), just not in this. Very weak and could not stand the test of time. Back in the 30's, yes. Now, tits and Spike Jones comedy just don't mix. Just leave it up to Adamson to mix the genre's appeals and not make it work.

Naughty on the other hand has a little more action and not too much dragging filler. A little more in the nudity department to boot. Yvonne is back and trying to find the right guy. While on her travels, she holds the love pocket back while every one else she encounters on her new job (which happens to be a stewardess) lays out the red carpet and gives it all they got. A little more soft core action to keep your pants off. Just stinks when Yvonne hooks up with an old school fart, ruins the look of her when she becomes a little intimate.

Anyways, this DVD is jam packed with goodies to appeal to the drive -in crowd. DVD 1 Feature film: BLAZING STEWARDESSES (1975) English audio Interview: MARILYN JOI (a.k.a. T.A. KING) Rare Combo Trailer Commentary: Producer SAM SHERMAN / historian ED HULSE Full Color Booklet featuring Liner Notes .DVD 2 Feature film: NAUGHTY STEWARDESSES (1974) English audio Never-Before-Seen Outtakes Commentary: Producer SAM SHERMAN Original Trailer / TV Spots Retro-Seduction Cinema Trailer Vault. So you can expect a crap load of juicy info from Al himself . You pretty much expect nice looking ladies. Just not a whole lot of meat.
