SOME LIKE IT SEXY is a very cheap, exploitation cash-in on the success of Michael Caine's ALFIE, featuring Christopher Matthews as a young stud who services his way through a number of willing women in Swinging Sixties London. There's little more story to it than that, other than a handful of stylistic twists, making this feel like a precursor to the Robin Askwith CONFESSIONS series although with even less of a storyline.
It's an amateurish production throughout which feels rather tame even for its era. The original film's title was COME BACK PETER until director Donovan Winters saw fit to re-release it years later by changing the title and adding in some more explicit sex scenes involving ludicrous-looking body doubles. These repellent moments are the worst part of the film, featuring close-up shots of a thrusting and hairy male backside which a) looks nothing like Matthews in the long shots we do see of him, and b) is sure to put you right off your cornflakes.
Sadly, SOME LIKE IT SEXY is a pretty terrible production, only of minor interest to connoisseurs of the cult. It's never even vaguely erotic despite most of the women who appear willing to go naked. The sex scenes are repetitive and boring, and the acting, to put it bluntly, sucks. Christopher Matthews went on to THE SCARS OF Dracula after this and was marginally less wooden, but he really is terrible here. Hammer fans may be interested to see the Collinson twins (Mary and Madeleine) in an uneasy and near-incestuous threesome scene and a brief turn from an ultra-thin Madeline Smith, before she filled out for her role in THE VAMPIRE LOVERS. She's virtually unrecognisable in her cameo here. Other than some decent pop songs on the soundtrack and some outrageous fashions, SOME LIKE IT SEXY has little of worth.
