I saw this movie on Univision about 15 years ago and would love to find it again, but it has never been released to video. I have searched everywhere, but to no avail.

The story, which is set in Mexico and is completely in Spanish, but please don't let that deter you, if you ever get a chance to view this gem. The plot concerns a little girl who lives alone with her father, whom she adores. The father, who loves to hang around in the "cantinas" during the datytime and talk of bullfighting with his amigos, soon graduates from longingly talking about this dangerous profession, to actually claiming that he is a famous bullfighter.

But when the real "torero", one Sunday, suffers an injury and can't go on, he is summoned to take his place and face a real bull in the ring. In the climatic finale, as the whole town watches (including his daughter) our poor hero faces his ultimate moment of truth. The acting is from the heart, so it is not even necessary to understand Spanish to enjoy, and even be deeply moved by this film.
