Sex & Nudity

  • Men are shown shirtless during battle.

Violence & Gore

  • Fighting between ship's crew and pirates. A man is stabbed in the stomach. No blood is shown. Another man is sliced on the shoulder with a sword. Blood is shown.
  • In a brawl between two pirates, one man throws a knife at another man's back. Nothing graphic is shown.
  • Men are shot and stabbed. Daggers and clubs are thrown. Several characters die in bloody battles.
  • We learn that a man drowns but we don't see it.

Profanity

  • Squire Trelawney and Captain Smollett both use the word "Ass". Otherwise it's mostly creative pirate-style swearing without curse words.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Billy Bones drinks rum heavily in one scene, even though his doctor warned him that it would kill him.
  • The pirates and a crewman drink rum. Several crewmen appear to be drunk.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A young boy's life is threatened several times in different situations but not particularly harrowing.
