Il Ricattatore - James Mason early believed-to-be-lost film in Italian
BSKIMDB24 July 2019
Why this 1941 movie originally entitled "The patient vanishes" or "This man is dangerous", is only available in Italian and has not been issued in English is a mystery. Yet it´s a luck that it can somehow be found and viewed, since once it was in the British Film Institute list of most wanted and believed to be lost films. The plot is not much (son of a Policeman takes a case on his own and risks his life to solve it) and the cast do what they can, the image quality is not much either, but still it´s an acceptable mystery movie and will be enjoyed by those interested. Mason and Mary Clare did other films together, she usually playing an astute villanious woman. BEWARE Italian dubbing only.

The 32 Year Old James Mason
Single-Black-Male29 October 2003
He had a mellifluous voice and a debonair manner in his delivery. Although he was trapped in only acting in British films at this stage in his career, James Mason demonstrated that he could carry a 90 minute film on his shoulders.
