Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Early in the movie after Sylvia Sydney and Spencer Tracy part, Sydney is in her living room listening to an African American woman sing. This black woman actually sings about the "darkies." This can be intensely shocking to 21st Century ears.
  • A jailhouse is set on fire, and one prisoner is left inside. This is a very intense scene.
