Edgar has bought an old yacht which he intends to repair. He discovers aboard a bottle of champagne. He wants to drink it, but wife Florence Lake insists it be used to launch the boat. So Edgar goes about fixing the boat up, while Miss Lake, mother-in-law Dot Farley, and brother-in-law William Eugene make his life a misery.
It's a typically fine and funny early entry into Edgar's long-running RKO comedy series, THE COMMON MAN, with lots of standard gags well executed under the direction of Harry Sweet. Best, though, is the ending, where they replicate an earlier comedy classic -- and do it better, thanks to the soundtrack.
