Ira ( Allan Forrest ) a young lifeguard on a desolate beach, rescues a baby from a shipwreck. The child is cared for by the men of the lifeguard station, who name her Periwinkle ( Mary Miles Minter ). Ann ( Anne Schaefer ) a widow with no children, eagerly takes charge of the child, raising Periwinkle as if she were her own. Now a beautiful young lady, Periwinkle is adored by all the men at the lifeguard station. A dissolute, wealthy young New Yorker, Richard Langdon ( George Fisher ) is washed up shore one day, the sole survivor when his yacht is wrecked. Found by Periwinkle, he is taken to the guard house where, nursed under the care of Periwinkle, he soon recovers. Under Periwinkle's pure hearted influence, Dick is transformed from a loafer to a man of honourable ambitions and he wins Periwinkle's affections and her hand in marriage.
