'Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose...' (Janis Joplin). 'Freedom to choose' is a meaningless phrase when you are told what you can chose from. What about freedom not to choose? Freedom to break from the rules? When the revolution happens and the rebel becomes the new leader, when taboos become the new values and the old values are discarded - who is free? Do you die for your freedom or does freedom only come with death?
