I know plenty of surfers. They talked incessantly about great rides and tubes and beach breaks. I never understood them until I watched this film. Masterfully made, and explains so much about the surfing culture and its evolution over the decades.
I learned more about the sport in the time I spent watching this movie than I did listening to them over the years. It's written for a novice so thst you don't lose your sense of place with it's pacing, but if you're a surfer, it's wonderful recitation of the history of the sport, from the surfers to the shapers to the spectators. Watch it now, I cannot emphasize how good this film is!!
