Anyway, any movie buff knows that Sergio Gobbi has always been on the loose, I have always had the feeling that Sergio Gobbi could do whatever he wished. No restriction of any kind. I have heard he was producer, director, distributor of his own films. Maybe an urban legend, but if you analyse closely each of his movies, you'll notice that he did not seem to have been under control of any kind. In this movie, I guess he was inspired by Hitchcock, with more or less success. More less than more, actually...I prefered from him LE TEMPS DES LOUPS, my all time Sergio Gobbi's favourite, inspired this time by the Don Siegel or Phil Karlson's films and also a bit Melville;...Nothing to do with this one, also inspired I suppose by the Italian giallos. After all, Gobbi was Italian.
