Zelda the Great
1 April 2024
Commissioner Gordon is baffled by a bank robbery that takes place on April 1st each year. He decides that it is time to light the bat signal.

By examining the bank vault, Batman sniffs out that the thief was a woman.

Batman decides to pull a crafty stunt. Convince the thief that the stolen money was counterfeit. The newspaper prints the fake money story.

This enrages Eivol Ekdal (Jack Kruschen) an Albanian inventor of magic tricks. He is due to receive the stolen money from Zelda the Great (Anne Baxter.) Payment for his conjuring inventions for Zelda.

Now Zelda has to commit another robbery to pay Ekdal. However she figures that Batman has maybe set a trap for her.

It might be all done with mirrors but I liked how Zelda and Ekdal never checked themselves if the money was real or not.

I liked how the newspaper vendor looked at the camera when someone asks why would the bank vault have counterfeit cash. He decides to look at the newspaper himself for the reason.

Aunt Harriet seems to still treat Robin as a kid still at school. She rushes out when she receives a phone call that he might have injured himself. Aunt Harriet might be heading for a fall.
