I've read all the bad reviews and honestly don't understand where all the negativity is coming from. My wife and I have a lot of series to watch so any new one better hook us in the first half hour, and this one did.
Regardless of the premise or likelihood of happening or whatever, it was engaging from the get-go. The ensemble has potential and work well enough together, it's a good premise with lots of places it could go (literally) and the banter between the characters is good.
Another good thing is that they gave us a lot of the back story right away, letting us know what the main character's motivation, while still leaving a mystery to unfold as the B story as time goes on.
And as far as the messaging Hollywood usually shoves down our throats, yes, there is a lesbian couple, but so far they are keeping it low key and not in our face, implying we're all homophobes if we disagree with that chosen lifestyle.
