This is another Santa intervention tale. This little girl met Santa 20 years ago and wished for a boyfriend and he told her she would get a boyfriend in 20 years. We jump to what is presumed to be about 20 years in the future, she is single, she hasn't met "the one" yet. We all know why she hasn't, it's part of the storyline and how it all works.
She meets a dashing man whom we obviously are led to believe is to be the one for her. She has an ex-boyfriend who competes with this new guy for her heart. The rest of the film is about the back and forth of her feelings, but we already know who she will be with in the end. It's a fun little story with some comedic parts, some serious stuff too, but mainly light and fun. She is a great actress, I've always loved every performance of hers and I remember that she won awards for her acting skills decades ago. Why haven't I seen her in anything the past 15 years? I see it's because she hasn't been in anything noteworthy, just a few romance flicks and some unknown TV shows. There hasn't been much TV courtroom drama that can match 'The Practice'.
Good film, I'll watch it again in 5-10 years.
