Ghostwatch (1992 TV Movie)
9/10
It works thirty years on.

A mother and two daughters are being haunted by a poltergeist at their home, a team from The BBC investigate, journalist and presenter Sarah Greene opts to spend the night at the home.

Over thirty years on, Ghostwatch still works, it still manages to scare and entertain. Such a shame that The BBC has lost the ability to produce original content such as this.

I'm not sure it's listed here, but this was past of The BBC'S Screen One drama series.

Is it me, or does this feel like an early version of Paranormal Activity, a genre that many of us became a little obsessed with.

Now, as a twelve year old, I can remember watching this with my parents, and being sent to bed, as it was considered too scary.

There is some content here that's genuinely unnerving, and more than a few disturbing scenes. Plenty of dialogue that wouldn't be used in such a dramatisation bow.

Considering that many of the cast are presenters, I think they did a very fine job, Parky is particularly good. Only Craig Charles is a little irritating, he's the one person sending it up, everyone else involved played it straight.

I know I shouldn't have kept on chuckling away at all of the glory hole jokes, but they do seem amusing now.

9/10.
