Don't waste your time

The show had potential to be really good, but the characters are underdeveloped and the lead role Mia is incredibly unlikeable. They make her character unnecessarily rude, and not in a "I'm lashing out cos I'm going through something" way but in a cruel and selfish way I genuinely wonder why she has friends.

The characters as a whole are just pretty unrelatable.

The show is trying too hard to be like sex education/euphoria type shows with the whole coming of age let's go wild concept but do it completely wrong in that they don't balance the serious with the fun parts in the right way. It's just a mash of serious anorexia scenes fade into a bunch of teenagers getting lit, very weird.

It's also pretty disappointing to see the younger brother have no real support for the mental health problems he's clearly struggling with. Sure he gets an episode, but its not gratifying. I appreciate they're trying to portray a real account of how a family may cope with this situation but it just leaves you feeling frustrated.

It's a shame, as Stephen Fry does great as Mias doctor. Really challenges her negative thoughts and reinforces that anorexia is an illness and it's not her fault.

Oh, and the weird thought monologue is very cringey.
