I used to love the Batman show as a kid. Yes it was campy and silly especially compared with the later movies that took on a much darker mood. However, it was good entertainment and Yvonne Craig is introduced as Batgirl in this short clip prior to the third season. William Dozier the shows creator narrates with his clipped Jack Webb style about an evil plot about to hatch at the Gotham library. Seemingly mousy librarian Barbara Gordon is locked in a back room while the caped crusaders battle the bad guys but are captured only to be saved when Barbara appears as Batgirl (I noticed that her costume looks really different from the later show). Yvonne Craig was a pioneer in a lot of ways because Batgirl was the first of tv superheroines who were just as tough as their male counterparts.
