What better way to stay out of jail than romancing the person who might arrest you?

Warning: Spoilers
Decent but quickly forgettable followup to the colorful 1941 fictional biography of the notorious southern female bandit, Belle Starr. You get a quick glimpse of Belle as played by Isabelle Jewell, worrying about what will happen to daughter Ruth Roman, hiding up in the mountains, if she's killed. Starr quickly gets bumped off and daughter Rose comes down, blaming marshal George Montgomery secretly for her death.

Rose sets out to get revenge with the help of fellow bandit Rod Cameron, and deals with romantic advances from Montgomery who ultimately becomes her savior. Predictable B western that casts Roman more because of her resemblance to the dark haired Gene Tierney who played Belle in 1941 and ended up being one of 20th Century's greatest stars.

The black and white photography is decent but being an independent production, this lacks the glamour touches of other Fox films. Chris Pin Martin has a good part as Spanish George, and Jim Davis of "Dallas" has a memorable small role at the beginning. It's a typical late 40's matinee programmer that would obviously become a late night TV staple, but easily slipped from the memory when it's over.
