This movie made me laugh a lot. It was hysterical the scene where she smoked pot. The timing and comedic reactions between all the actors are really good, and I was willing to go along for the ride because it is a romcom after all, and I'm not even sure who I was rooting for to win out at the end of it all whether it was, the new boyfriend or the old ex but it wasn't satisfying when she finally did talk it out with the ex and it wasn't satisfying the scene with her kids. There should've been more confusion there because first they were saying how great it was in New York that they were all hanging out together how much they loved it, so why didn't they like the idea of them getting back together? I mean those two reactions really didn't mesh well , in terms of the plot and ultimately, I know it was a farce and contrived but it had the potential to be both really funny and really real and dramatic especially with the cast that they had so I think it was the script. That was the final let down I would've given this a 10 if it it ended more Realistically another example is Steve Martin's character says he can't be with her because her ex isn't over her yet then she has a talk with her ex on the porch swing and nothing really felt that resolved and then next seen Steve Martin is back so if we are time traveling here and a period of time is past to make it more realistic that that happened we didn't get to see that so it just didn't make a lot of sense for me at the end to cliché.
