I've always wondered what mining is like, and this movie was the most realistic portrayal of the horrors, the dread, the toxic filth, the darkness, the dust, claustrophobia and the desolation, destitution and hell mining represents. And horrificly bad fortune that many miners have to deal with on a daily basis. It has to be one of the worst ways that a human being can possibly make a living. Is is astonishing how dependent we still are on coal. If people only knew.
Mining has to be up there in the top 5. I can think of some others but mining is the most dreaded profession I can possibly imagine and I give thanks everyday that I don't have to do it. This movie was fairly well done considering how small the budget was and is very very tragic.
