A Mixed Bag Of Weird Contrivances

Warning: Spoilers
Master Gardener

This was a very weird movie, on the surface a committed horticulturist play by Joel Edgerton tending gardens for a matriarch Sigourney Weaver, but in reality a criminal in a witness protection programme.

Overlay this with an addicted mixed race girl and a former white supremacist. As you can see this a bizarre mixed bag of issues that really can't have any sort of realistic resolution.

The introduction of a romantic element made me laugh out loud, allayed with the sexual exploitation of an employee by Sigourney Weavers character, it really made for some silly scenes. The very idea that they would live happily ever after was just grafted on to end the move when any relationship made on these terms was made in hell.

The stilted script and almost mechanical delivery grated at every turn. The characters were written tissue thin and there was scant development.

Overall the whole thing irritated me with its deliberate slowness, I'm giving this 4 outta 10, meaning best avoided.
