Hiawatha (1952)
Native Americans western
3 July 2023
This western belongs to those which spoke only of Native Americans, Indians, without any White men, Palefaces...Or nearly, just a bit. There were some of those films, rare, yes, but they exist. I have not the titles now in my head. They are different from those with cavalry, pioneers, cow boys, homesteaders...This movie was directed by the eclectic Kurt Neuman, the future maker of THE FLY, a little jewel in science fiction matter. This one HIAWATHA is rewarding for those who dare trying it, not the best adventure western ever, but unusual and agreeable to watch. Western starring only Indian characters, plus set in beautiful locations, Montana locations, I guess.
