This is the first entry in the Crossword Puzzle Mystery series on Hallmark starring Lacey Chabert as Tess Harper the crossword editor of the newspaper The Daily Sentinel. She meets detective Logan O'Conner son of police chief O'Conner, while he is looking into the case of an art theft and the murder of Allan Nightingale who is a friend of Tess' aunt Candace.

Tess determines that the mastermind behind the art thefts is linked to a mysterious but regular crossword puzzle submitter who is giving location, time and piece of art embedded in a crossword.
Meanwhile she is organizing and mc'ing a crossword puzzle competition.

This is a very New York City series. The lead actors are wonderful with some good supporting cast members including Barbara Niven and John Kapelos. I liked Tess' kind but inquisitive nature and her offering of factual information. Logan...is slow to warm to Tess, which I am ok with but it is interesting how long he puts up a fight.
