Prevenge (2016)
7/10
Pretty Good British Slasher Movie

I found this movie to be pretty good with the material it has in it. The story is unique with a pregnant woman who is convinced her fetus is telling her to embark on a killing spree on people who are involved in a climbing accident that kill her husband. It builds up well with the main character descent into a killing spree and the psychological horror that she goes through. The movie is somewhat repetitive with going to her victims and killing them. But I do like how the debate is on if she wants to keep the baby or not. The comedy itself is a hit or miss that I have mixed thoughts over. There are a couple of funny moments like her having regular conversations with her victims, but the humor doesn't get to me. Also, I do like her fetus is talking to her, which proves how crazy she gets throughout.

There's only one character the movie focuses on, and it works really well.

Ruth is a pregnant widow who is convinced her fetus is telling her to get revenge. The character is pretty developed with her backstory and how insane she is because she thinks her fetus is telling her to kill people. And how she debates if she wants it or not. As I mentioned before, the director of the movie is the main character who does a pretty good job playing as the character.
