This is is a good show that becomes great as it progresses. The acting is solid, the storyline is engaging and full of twists and turns. It's an epic series that covers over 30 tumultuous years of Spanish history, beginning at the end of the civil war and ending with the fall of the Franco dictatorship. Each of these periods could have been its own shorter series as there was so much going on.

Although Germany lost the war, fascism and hate didn't, as some of the escaped Nazis later became officials in Argentinas military regime in the 1970s, which the CIA supported. This show touches on the timeless theme of how to live meaningful, dignified lives amidst all the hate, violence and oppression in the world. An epic series definitely worth watching especially if you speak Spanish.
