Don't expect the movie that you see in the trailer
20 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Very well acted by the all star cast. Thought provoking. Poignant. A reminder of what's great, not so great and down right ugly about our precious NHS.

Also a warning of what's great, not so great and downright ugly about the way we care for our precious elderly.

The thing is that's not the film sold to me in the trailer which appears to be a proper old fashioned British comedy. Sure it's funny in parts and very wittily written (nearly all that's funny is in the trailer) and the cast of aging, much beloved national treasures were as consummately professional as we knew they would be. On that basis (all star, comedy... national treasures) the film house screening I attended was packed on a Monday evening. Judging from the anticipation in the foyer and then their faces when the audience left, I really don't think they got the movie they expected. Is that a bad thing after all it was an interesting feature, and as I said thought provoking?. But it was a feature I would have waited to see on the TV if I'd known. So, as shallow as it sounds, I feel somewhat cheated.
