My wife and I just spent a week on the Isle of Palms, South Carolina. In our rented condo was a book called "The Beach House" and I read it while we stayed the week. I bring all of this up because not one review I've read here has mentioned that the story takes place on Isle of Palms! Yes, the film was shot on Tybee Island in Georgia, but the story takes place on the southern end of Isle of Palms, which is a beach community outside of Charleston, SC. Anyway, I was surfing Amazon Prime and chanced upon the movie and watched it - and enjoyed it. I didn't expect Lovie to be as young as Andie MacDowell, but the character of Cara was spot on. By the way, Isle of Palms is beautiful and a wonderful destination - check it out!
