Tobey is forced to help out Benjy his ex cellmate. He is on the run from a mob boss and he wants a job as well as a place to hide out.
Unfortunately Benjy is seen and a hitman wipes him out.
Nelson takes a leaf out of Captain Holbrook's book. A press headline claims that the hit on Benjy failed. The hitman visits the cafe for another go but this time the police are waiting for him.
The Detectives was fast moving in its 30 minutes format. That economy of story has been lost in the longer format. It felt slow although Adam West is a welcome addition to the cast.
