the Scariest Low Budget Sci-Fi/Horror Movie of all time
9 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
"The Deadly Spawn" is probably one of these science fiction/horror movies I've never seen before since its release over 40 years ago and it's no doubt the most scariest and disturbing low-budget science fiction horror movie ever made and considered Douglas McKeown's only time as a film director. The Plot follows when a meteorite crashes to earth and is seen by 2 teenage campers from the beginning of the film and are suddenly attacked and eaten by the Alien that sorta looks like a mix between an Earthworm and H. R. Giger's creation of the Alien movies starting with the first movie released in 1979 and the film itself is set in a new england town to be exact and no surprise that the characters in this movie including Charles a monster movie buff and his older brother Pete has a passion for science and not to mention Charles' uncle is a psychiatrist and the Aunt involving her mother to attend a vegetarian lunch meal. Plus the characters are stereotypical at first and considering how this movie has a low budget, the Creature Design of the Deadly Spawn along with the tadpole version of the Creature looks simply good and creepy and will give you nightmare fuel for years to come and despite that the movie is 80 minutes long and some of the scenes of the victims either eaten by these earthworms like creatures (including Charles and Pete's Uncle and Ellen) are a bit disturbing and brutal and there's even a twist ending. Still, the Deadly Spawn is one of those movies that everyone should probably see just once and I wouldn't want children seeing this movie, becuase this is one scary low-budget sci-fi horror movie you should not watch alone.
