Mean-spirited "comedy" that should be forgotten
9 February 2023
To be perfectly honestly I haven't watched that many old school raunchy comedy films, and after Stewardess School I'm hoping this isn't representative of the genre. The plot is baffling, the characters one dimensional, and the "comedy" is totally lacking. So much of the humor truly feels like something from a different era, going for cheap laughs at the expense of its characters.

In particular the "fat" stewardess gets absolutely brutalized by the movie and it's just painful to see, serving her humiliation after humiliation. She's not even that big! And it's gross seeing how domesticated another stewardess is by her awful boyfriend, who at no point gets any kind of comeuppance for being an all-round terrible human being. I did like the bimbo stewardess though, she was so over the top horny I couldn't help enjoying her.

I watched this movie because I love flying and got disappointed by how little a film called "Stewardess School" seemed to care about the topic. Most of the characters don't even want the job, and the main character who supposedly does love flying barely mentions that after his first few scenes. I doubt anyone who actually worked in aviation had anything to do with this movie, the creators of the film obviously just wanted to have a setting where lots of women would be around. The most jarring example is how the three engined airliner that the characters board in the last act of the film turns into a two engined model mid flight, the lack of care is pathetic.

I'm not sure why someone would ever want to watch this film outside of nostalgia or liking the actors, it has nothing else to offer. If you want to watch something about flight attendants watch A View From the Top: deeply cheesy and not very good but a masterpiece compared to this trash.
