They really should have stopped with the original story of Once Were Warriors. Beyond this, the story didn't need to continue. Instead- they try to find some redemption in the protagonist Jake, a pretty despicable character from the first installment trying to make amends and atone.
Certainly, we all deserve the chance at redemption. But still: It could have been executed a lot more believably and without cliché. The story is a touch derivative and lacks any nuance. The acting around the lead actor is predictable and mediocre. I would only watch this if you felt you needed "something more" after Once Were Warriors.
