A Rajshri's trek to Everest Base Camp.
5 February 2023
Amitabh Bachchan gets to once again deal with personal loss and learn to grieve in this Rajshri venture about 3 friends trying to honour their 4th friend who recently passed away with an unfinished dream to climb everest. It is quite evident that it has trekking as backdrop but is directed by someone who has never trekked himself. So, much of the focus is on the drama and not until 97mins into the movie, the actual trek begins.

What does work is the bonding between the three actors - Big B, Anupam Kher and Boman Irani. They largely make this work, firmly aided by Neena Gupta and Sarika. Much of the focus is on these people's individual lives issues. Much to my surprise, Rajshri went realistic in handling relationships and even going ahead to admit elders can be wrong too. But then it was getting too realistic so towards the third act they increased the melodrama through Amitabh's character.

It is infact an endearing attempt, the humor is neat and the emotions pure. Not that you would expect anything different from a Rajshri film. Just watch it for what it is and don't have any wrong expectations. This is purely a human relationship drama and very less of an adventure film. I did wish for better memorable songs though.
