This darkly humorous comedy is a great success. It tells the story of a butcher couple who are on the verge of breaking up, but whose relationship is saved when they are confronted with a new meat that they will serve to their customers who love it. Fabrice Eboué dares a lot in this politically incorrect film where culinary beliefs are confronted with other beliefs. The film is rich in showing terrorism, sectarianism, beliefs, racism, in different forms, and always in a disrespectful way. It is good to see that it is possible to shake up the politically correct way of thinking. The film also makes fun of the fascination that serial killers provoke.
Fabrice Eboué is both an excellent actor and an excellent director. And finally, by his treatment of the various characters, manages to make this couple sympathetic. As well as the character of the policeman who investigates, while eating all the time! It is not subtle, but the subject does not call for subtlety. And it's funny and horrible, amusing and jubilant, and horrible in the gory sense of the term, even if Fabrice Eboué avoids bloodshed and is more in the suggestion (which does not harm the film at all, on the contrary).
