If I had to pick out one word to describe this movie, it would be "unhinged".
It's funny and it's unpredictable. You really never know what's going to happen next. LOTS of clever, unexpected, humorous lines, especially from Jason Bateman, who has mastered delivering strange, wry lines with a straight face.
However, like Die Hard, I don't regard this as a Christmas movie. It's a story that happens at Christmas, but Christmas themes really have little to do with it. And I think more damage is done to an office building in Office Christmas Party than was done to Nakatomi Plaza. :-)
Sit back and prepare to laugh at times and roll your eyes at times, but you'll never relax.
