After watching Whiplash, it's definitely worth watching 'Round Springfield for sure, which pays tribute to the art of jazz and of course Bleeding Gums Murphy. This was the first Simpsons episode where a character is killed off, and it got quite emotional seeing Bleeding Gums Murphy die after a stint in hospital.
Lisa works incredibly hard to pay tribute to Bleeding Gums Murphy, and the final scene was incredibly emotional, more so than that movie Whiplash really. No nasty horrible jazz teacher, no chairs being thrown, no expletives, just pure jazz from Bleeding Gums Murphy.
One of the best episodes of the season.
