I was expecting a great movie from stars like Jonathan Rhys Meyer and Dominic Monaghan, but I was so disappointed watching this movie. It truly could have been a great movie, if done properly. What I like about this movie is the setting (borneo island) and the culture portrayed. However this movie lacks the depth of cultural understanding. What I mean is, as a viewer, this film doesn't tell me the importance of the cultural things they do. Another thing, this movie lacks the background stories, especially about how the rulers rule their territory, relationships between Rajah and Maharajah, and those between said rulers. The "climax" is also a letdown. And a homosexual prince in a Moslem country ? Come on ! That's just damn ridiculous. I regret spending almost 2 hours watching this movie.
